I work casual-time in a Vietnamese bubble tea store. We have rotational managers and they have all been previously lovely until my recent manager, male and middle aged Vietnamese man, came along. He is super nosy and never truly does any work. He always hangs around the females in the store, and there's about 3 of us compared to the other 6 males. This didn't really concern me, but recently, he has been real touchy with me, always just following me into the back to organise through our packages, never helped and it was SO awkward. Or constantly finding a reason to have to squeeze past me to get to where he was going only to do nothing there and squeeze back in a PERFECTLY large space. But most recently and the reason I've come here for an idea I might not be seeing, I was getting ready to leave after my evening shift, in the staff room. He came in and was super friendly but also sulky that I "had to leave him". Surprised me cuz we've never really talked to become that close, yet he went on and as I was leaving through the back to my car, he followed me and pretended to again sulk like a child trying to grab my hand or shoulder and stand in my way playfully. I know I should have reacted better but I was honestly terrified so I nervously laughed. But then THIS MAN said to me "Vietnamese culture for a goodbye" before putting his hands on my waist and kissed my cheek.
Now I thought perhaps I was sending signals becuase I was laughing so I remeber telling him that I don't want him to ever touch me again or I'll report him, and drove off. He has been mad aand glaring at me all day during my shift. I'm scared he might do something if it wasn't just culture and he was mad I rejected him... if it's abuse how do I report him ensuring my safety? I'm truly scared.
But perhaps I'm looking too much into it, maybe it's Vietnamese culture to be so touchy and physically friendly. Perhaps I'm from such a conservative household? Please help..
