I'm not jealous but I am wrong for calling him out?

I've gone on a few dates with this guy and he's said oh "so and so is cute." or "that waitress is pretty." When I was at his place he even told me he had the hots for his neighbor at some point. I told him I wasn't a fan of him saying stuff like that. His response was "I don't really like jealous girls." My response was "I'm not jealous but if we're doing things you should be telling that cute, hot, etc." tell me you've for the hots for me instead of the MILF neighbor... He acknowledged, said he understood, and stopped for a good while actually. But he slipped the other night.

Was I right to be annoyed in the first place? Calling him out on it then and now? I honestly don't see that type of thing as jealousy.
