Why do guys always say “ I’ve never felt this way about anyone before, I really like you” or “Are you even a real person”?

I just find it hard to believe that any of it is genuine after past experiences. How do you know when it’s real?

How do you know when it’s genuine? Well long term. If they say it to everyone they ever been with. If you are with someone long enough and they start turning into someone else. It’s probably a act… or maybe for a time they did feel that way but you couldn’t live up to unrealistic fantasies and expectations.

If something feels off putting. Well…. Take it for what it is. Many people fall for generic words and phrases like this manipulators just learn what to say and when to say it. But there are people who do genuinely feel that way about someone as well.

So. Notice things. See if they seem genuine. If their actions match it. And if there are other red flags or yellow flags. Red flags mean STOP…. Yellow means caution.

Are they saying that to you online or does every guy said that to you. If I have feelings for somebody I'll Express to them what the feelings are but if it's a feeling that I've had before I'm not going to say I've only ever felt that for anybody but you unless it's specifically a feeling I felt for somebody.

I agree with you. A lot of guys say "I never met anyone like you. You're different from the rest of women I dated". I've heard it myself quite a bit.

So I have to ask myself "Where are these guys now"? Not here - that's for sure.

It's especially believable to hear that from a guy if you've really been doing the work it takes to make yourself a better person - not that you were bad, but to clear those cob webs out. A new and improved version of yourself.

So since I did that, which wasn't easy, I would believe the guy when he said those things to me. But the end result was still the same. And yes! It was them and not me! They were screwed up guys that only thought with their small brain.

My girlfriend's and I would talk on the phone for hours - comparing notes, trying to figure guys out. 😕 None of it ever worked. I just bowed out gracefully of the dating game. I was spent!

Then I met the love of my life when I was 62. It lasted 6 years until he passed away suddenly. I do think that he said that he never met anyone like me before but then I had never met anyone like him before either.🙂

Because those lines usually say more about their internal state than about you.

Sometimes it’s genuine.

When someone hasn’t felt emotional safety, chemistry, or connection in a long time, meeting someone who activates that can feel disorienting.

Lol I feel like you are probably not like most women they have talked to. They might not be lying but I call that infectuation. Its like you gave them your "cooties". Thats how kids love and there's nothing more pure then how kids love, when its genuine... its called FALLING in love for a reason lol

I don't know how you know if they mean it or not. I don't know if they know.

As im sure you know guys dont know when they are lying to themselves half the time... We very rarely learn to process emotions and express them in a clear way. Especially when we are fallin in love.

i never said these things in my life xD. except the "i really like" you part but not all the other stuff. i mean for guys, the dating market just sucks. they get basically hardly any attention. so i guess you're comming from a "female dating site place", where you see crazy levels of validation every day so you can't even understand why someone would react so positively to what feels like a small level of validation to you. so even if they feel nothing for you. if you've been nice to them and gave them some good feminine attention, that's a very rare experience for most guys, so i guess that's why it's so outstanding to them even if it's not that special. and then of course there's liars and sweet talkers who just try to fool you. so yeah. if you wanna know if it's real, see if they keep sticking around. ask questions. you'll eventually find it out.

It’s sad that so many guys have abused this line to the point of making it sound so fake

I know from experience that even if I’m having feelings I’ve never felt before most women won’t believe me if I told them

Thankfully I don’t feel that very often so it’s a non-issue

But when I do it’s hard to express it in an honest way.
