Is conservative love bombing a red flag?

So the new fella I’m about to see is very into what seems like flattery. Everything is “an honor”. It will be an honor to see me … to sit with me … to hold my paperclips … (Sorry, I’m exaggerating a little, but there are over 20 texts like this and one is what an honor to wear his annoying shoes to my black tie event.)

So I stop and ask why he keeps saying that bc I’m not used to it. He says… I should be bc I’m a woman of quality. (And he quotes a passage from the Bible about women of value.)

Well damn….

And that’s that… he’s suddenly macho and saying he won’t change his declaration…. It’s cute on the one hand and worrisome on the other hand bc guys here just don’t talk like that.

I’m trying to figure out if this falls under love bombing or if it really is just something I should be used to.

I guess time will tell, but would be cool for you guys to weigh in.

My personal opinion... sounds like a guy with a lack of social tact. He thinks his words will appease you. In my generation, we call guys like these simps. They'll say whatever they need to. Just from what you've said, I get weird vibes from the dude and wouldn't trust him, but you do you.

I don't know that he's just saying whatever. He's a little older and I think just using language that he thinks is some sort of high praise. I thought he was being sarcastic at first. I had to stop and look at him to realize it's just his way. I don't like that when I said it made me uncomfortable he kept doing it anyway. Hmm.

Sounds like this guy needs to adopt a touch more grace and humility with a woman he hopes to court, especially a strong independent intelligent one. His heart is on the right place, he doesn't need to keep on using it as it is starting to push you away.

I don't know the guy, but it sounds like he is saying all the right things to catch his prey. Only time will tell if he is sincere or not. I won't be surprised if he does a 180 when he gets what he wants.

Also usually love bombers stop love bombing when they get their results that they were looking for, and then turn into control freaks

What results are those? So far we're just scheduling days to meet up. He has kids and work, so there's some leeway I'll be giving him. So long as he's not married or playing around, that's all I ask.

You have like 10 other dudes barking up your tree, if the guy is being a weirdo and rubbing you to the wrong way then tell him to take a hike. Don't relinquish power or control in your interactions, friendship, dynamic between the two of you and he will probably just fuck off into the sunset in his own.

Barking doesn't mean I'm willing to entertain all of the noise. I've basically ignored it all but this year I'm actually trying to figure out how to sort the good guy from the "red flag" guys.
