Fat people know they are fat If it were so easy for them to lose the excess weight, they would have done it a long time ago No one is fat on purpose and enjoys being judged and ridiculed for it. Or having to physically live with it. Should I stupid-shame you?
"If it were so easy for them to lose the excess weight, they would have done it a long time ago" Nah they're just too lazy or don't want to.
"No one is fat on purpose and enjoys being judged and ridiculed for it. Or having to physically live with it. " Hahahaha 😂 thanks for the laugh. Tell that to the people eating a double big mac at McDonald's.
"Should I stupid-shame you?" Sure go ahead, that is if what I said is actually stupid.
Hahaha Hilarious you have 'such strong view point' on fat shaming and yet, you're anonymous... You must be one of those vain bitches in high school who fed (and still feed) on people's misery... Nice. You're a winner.

Huh I didn't realize being anonymous "automatically equals coward". Wake up girly, there is a reason the anonymous function exists on this site, it prevents you from associating yourself with controversial topics and still allow you to express you're views on them freely. I'm sorry if you feel, me not tarnishing my reputation, makes me a coward. Plus your pathetic attempts at insulting me is mediocre at best.
@LittleSally I learned in my psychology class that people who shame a particular group of people, ARE part of that particular group. That's why it's not unusual for people who are homophobic are closet fags themselves. It wouldn't surprise me if the mytakeowner was actually a fat girl herself. I think it's a troll anyway.
1. People have the right to look the whatever way they want to look. If they are happy with their bodies, you have no right to insult them. 2. People AREN'T fat, people HAVE fat. 3. Why the hell do you even care? If they get diabetes, they will have to deal with it, not you! Why do you give a fuck? 4. If you actually wanted to help people be healthy, you should read the WHO's definition of "healthy", which goes along the lines of: "Healthy" is a state of emotional, social, cultural, psychological and physical stability. By insulting fat people, you are preventing them from being emotionally and psychologically stable, hence actually acting AGAINST their health.
The first pic made me laugh. I usually enjoy laughing but I've never felt so wrong for doing so.
I mean sure , You have a point. We should be truthful with others instead of sugar coating because we can possibly be the eye opener to help save someone's lives. However , I'm the type of person that if you didn't ask me for my input , I simply won't give it to you. The fact that people nowadays are soo personal and involve themselves in other peoples business when they don't need to be , is the real problem. I'd draw offense to that period , whether I'm obese or not. I simply didn't ask the way you felt , so why are you stating it? Now, if I ask for someone's input I should be prepared that i will hear something completely opposite of what I want to hear. I'm a fan of putting myself in people's shoes. When you do so you don't lack empathy and understand other people better.
@ShepherdOfFire99 How else can we help the crack addict? It's either by helping them realizing they have a problem or by making them stop by force (or both). If we would call doing those things crackhead-shaming noone would ever get help. If you're going to compare eating a lot of crappy food with being a crack addict, you might as well go all the way in the comparison. It's a stupid comparison, because as long as you don't have an eating disorder it is WAY easier for a fat person to lose weight than it is for a crack addict or alcoholic to quit. Obesity leads to an increased risk in getting A LOT of different diseases. Not encouraging people to not being fat doesn't make sense if you want what's best for them and society in general.
Yes! While we are at it let's start telling depressed people they just need to stop being sad their problems are stupid. As well with anxious people, just say oh your just an idiot. Yes feed into their dispair that is how you make people better and not want to kill themselves. Listen I am overweight and it's this shit that people say that make me think well hmmm I guess no one does cafe so eff it. It literally brings me down and makes me just not want to live anymore, so what you are saying is completely counter productive. As well just because you are big does not mean you are unhealthy. My great granfather and great uncle were both around my size and they lived well into their eighties.
You. I like you. This person is just rude and salty for God knows why. Don't let it get to you. *hugs* You know. I lost some weight myself. Maybe I could help you out? :)
@ShepherdOfFire99 Thank you! I know she is, but she needs to know how things can effect people. As well I do have to say that I have been losing some weight. Cut my intake down quite low and in the past four or so months lost 25 to 30 pounds. All thanks to the SUPPORT of my friends and family.
That is true, she should know that her false entitlement can hurt real people. I'm very proud of you :) Usually cutting intake weight loss will stop working, so, If you ever want to drop a few more and need some help, ask me, I'm quite knowledgeable on the subject :)
-My brother and sister have always lived lifestyles as inactive as me, and my brother practically had a six pack before he even started working out. I ended up with what can only be called a beer belly, by about 10th grade.
-We were both always fed pretty well, and my mom rarely bought junk food, sugary stuff, and we rarely eat out
-I just ended up fat/overweight and my brother didn't and it doesn't look like my sister is going to.
So yeah I dunno what to tell you.

Congratulations you're one of the small percentage of people who are genetically disposed to being fat, but that still doesn't change the fact that the majority of fat people are fat because they eat too much.
You have to realize some people can't control all of it either, a co worker has very bad arthritis he can barely walk let alone run, yet he isn't obese really, there's some merit to what you say about people using it as a crutch-hell I lost my hair at 18 to a shock condition when my father died, some people mock a shaved bald head but I still continue on and have high standards on a girls looks etc so I agree that someone shouldn't lay back on a crutch or play victim, I could have with hairloss but didn't
But realize that some people have legitimate problems that can't be helped with weight, you don't have to date then per say but they do deserve respect over a teenager who plays video games and does nothing but eat,
My father had celiac, couldn't eat wheat oats etc which is even is pop believe it or not, anyway, I get what you're saying as I've seen it firsthand, however even a small amount of jogging-even just a half hour a day could slim the majority of fat people, sad some view a half hour of hardcore workout as bad now, I don't feel satisfied unless I'm worn to exhaustion but then again I skydive so I'm out there anyway
As long as you hurt people then it's not okay. People who are overweight have a mirror, they know how they are and this shouldn't be anyone else's business. A person can take years to like him/herself and you (you in general, not you personally) can't just destroy everything because of your not very funny humour

Not when they actually think being fat is perfectly normal. Besides the truth hurts, an addict thinks being pumped full of heroin is normal but that doesn't mean you shouldn't stop them because they think it is.
Asker, have you ever considered that maybe they try to feel normal because society and the media make them feel terrible, not only about how they look, but as people?
You shouldn't shame it but you also shouldn't in anyway encourage it, I don't but I also realize that it is a major issue obesity is a problem and it must be taken care of that means as a future professional trainer I need to be realistic with people both that come to me for advice and those I train and make them realize that if they continue down an unhealthy path like that it will either cripple them, make their lives miserable and harder then it needs to be or it will kill them plain and simple.
And if that means I have to be a bit cold or hard with them then so be it but it's a small sacrifice to make knowing that they will be better off then when I first encountered them.
So fat shaming huh? What next... skinny shaming, short shaming? I bet it hasn't occurred to most of you that sometimes being over weight or under weight could occur when people have medical issues. So most times, they have no control over their weight. The most important thing is that the person is healthy and feels good about themselves. We really need to start helping people feel good about themselves instead of bad. Plus there are like soo many more important issues at hand to study than bringing people down
I agree with you here and there, but I think I'd rather be fat and happy than skinny but unhappy. Because I don't want to be one of those people who constantly have to watch their weight, what they eat, how much exercise etc sure I'll be healthier but if that means I gotta forgo eating what I love then whats the point of living longer if you're not gonna be enjoying those extra years by stuffing your face in Ben & Jerry's?
Lol I still think everyone should aim to have a balance of both, but at the end of the day, it's their decision in what they prioritize most; food or health. It's not your place to criticize them, because I'm sure they already know that, the fact that they keep eating means they don't care. So ease off, and at least avoid publicly scolding them, it's impolite.
I'm actually happy about this take... that I hate and that people are bitch-shaming you like they should! ^_^ #BitchShamingIsOkay
BEING SUPPORTIVE is a good thing and is helpful. Making fun of fun people (which you did with your gifs and pictures) IS NOT OKAY NOR HELPFUL. Perhaps you didn't know this, but sugar is very addictive and depending on upbringing, some had it more than others. You think a crack addict is going to easily get off crack? NO! He's going to have withdrawals, he's to feel like shit, and it's going to be hard for him to wean himself of the drug. Same with sugar.
P. S. I'm not fat, I'm skinny, but I know how hard it is to lose weight and damn sure don't tolerate prejudice.
I think people are smart enough to decipher advice and a diagnosis given by medical professionals and an average joe's opinion. No fat shaming isn't a good thing. There is no excuse to sham anyone for who they are physically. Although I do think you weren't fat shaming your friends. You're just tackles in expressing your opinions
I don't believe in the current trend of "shaming". There is a difference in telling someone that they are fat and pulling them aside and telling them that you noticed that they have put on weight. I find nothing wrong with shaming because the only person to take something as shaming is the person who lies into said "shaming" group. People have to learn how to put things nicely for more sensitive people and sensitive people need to learn how to take criticisms. My opinion is that the term "shaming" is wrong and real motivation could go a lot farther.
Its rude to tell someone they're fat or to tell them how to eat. You don't have the right to go up to just anyone and say hey fat ass lay off the oreos.
But I also think we need to stop pretending that obesity doesn't exist, we need to stop treating the word "fat" like an expletive, we need to stop saying all sizes are beautiful and its okay to be overweight. Because that's the normalization and acceptance of an epidemic that is killing our society.
Dude, it is scientifically proven that there are big health risks with being overweight. Just to name a few, overweight/obese people have increased risk in getting: heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, type 2 diabetes, cancer, obesity hypoventilation syndrome, reproductive problems, etc.
It is POSSIBLE for a fat person to be healthy, sure. But generally speaking he or she is unlikely to be healthier than a skinnier person. Don't kid yourself, size is definitely proportionate to health.
While being fat/obese shouldn't be promoted, it shouldn't be shamed either. That's like telling someone who's struggling to get good grades that they're never gonna make it and always be a failure. There's a difference between encouraging someone and flat out insulting someone.

She doesn't even know she's stupid, so it's worse than fat people. Shame her all You want! I did it proudly...

Just looking at all of the pics you have displayed is terrible.
You must be walking perfection.
You should be ashamed.
Those words of "encouragement" are words of abuse. How is that supposed to help anyone? Food is an addiction.
Do you think you can make alcoholics stop drinking by cursing them out.
Lets be real here.
Your intent isn't to help it's to inflict pain
There's a way you deliver a message and have it be effective and heard. Yelling insult is not the way
Exactly!!! Food is an addiction. It's like yelling at a crack addict && expecting them to stop!
@ShepherdOfFire99 How else can we help the crack addict? It's either by helping them realizing they have a problem or by making them stop by force (or both).

Could it be rather that neither of you were active enough nor ate well enough but he just lucked out, rather than you being unlucky?
@RachelBrigs okay if it wasn't luck, then what was it.
I'll go out on a limb and say its due to inactivity and not eating to your nutrition type.
@ShepherdOfFire99 oh so now people have nutrition types? That doesn't give me any hope for dieting if I'll have to attempt a bunch before one works.
Actually, yeah, people do. That's why high protien works for some and high carbs works for others.
Dr. Mercola has a free nutrition typing test.
But realize that some people have legitimate problems that can't be helped with weight, you don't have to date then per say but they do deserve respect over a teenager who plays video games and does nothing but eat,
Problem is, most of the weight loss is through your diet. And vast majority of people definitely have control over that.
My sister had gull-bladder issues and had to be extremely careful of what she ate for 2 months. She melted. No exercise were involved.

What if it's genetics? Huh? Its possible for a person to be fat and healthy, as well as skinny and healthy. Size is not proportionate to health.
That's what your doctor told you?
@Crazyced can you not read? i just typed it
If there's the word doctor in there, then sure I can't read. But if there isn't, I have bad news for you.
@Crazyced I have seen with my own eyes a large man sprint faster and longer than a skinny man

@TheSwedishGuy I made that comment over a year ago. I competly disagree today
It's hard to take your already troll piece seriously when it's laden with memes and silly images.

Sure I'm a troll, when you don't agree with me.
If you presented it in a serious manner, I'd take it as a non troll piece.
I won't even read this.
I'm not fat people, but I would never feel okay making fun of them... like who the fuck am I to do so?
That's bad, body shaming is stupid.
is weight an issue in our world? yes but shaming which is essentially just another word for insulting people is not a solution
do we help kids who are having trouble learning by calling them stupid? no so... there ya go
