Mooky06s’ Shopping Guide for Men’s Skin Care Products

Hello All! I’m super ecstatic to be able to provide this Shopping Guide (in form of a myTake) for all you guys out there who have trouble choosing something in terms of Skin Care products. Just a follow up from my previous myTake

https://www.girlsaskguys.com/health-fitness/a25852-mooky06s-guide-to-beautiful-healthy-skin

There will be a list down the bottom of some products that you can choose from (according to your skin type) and preferably whereabouts you can get them also. I will keep it short and sweet, so you don’t end up falling asleep haha :P

Cutting to the chase (You can skip the mumbo jumbo part and scroll down to your skin type and follow the steps from there)

What skin type you have is a big indication of what skin care products you’ll need. If you haven’t by now figured out what skin type you have, use the following to help distinguish:

1. Wash your face

2. Pat it dry

3. Wait an hour

4. Use a tissue to dab your face

SYMPTOMS

Normal skin- Nice and smooth with no imperfections (no acne/blemishes)

Sensitive skin- Will have minor red patches in some areas of face

Dry skin- Will appear flaky and dry

Oily/Combination skin- Will be greasy and shiny in appearance

STEP ONE: WASH

All you have to do in this stage is just wash your face with water (like you’d normally do on a typical day). Do not pat dry.

STEP TWO: EXFOLIATE

Continuing from (Step One “Wash”) you need to exfoliate. This will pick up any dirt and grime that has been living in your skin.

All of these products can help with all the skin types that I listed above. These products can be found in your supermarket. If you do online shopping most of the time Amazon, eBay (etc) will be your new best friend.

Baking Soda/Baking Powder (Found in the cooking/baking aisle)

Sugar Crystals/Pure Sugar (Found in cooking/baking aisle)

Sea Salt (Found in cooking/baking aisle)

Oatmeal (Found in cereal/breakfast aisle)

Kefir (Found in the diary aisle)

Honey (Found in the spreads aisle)

Buying ORGANIC is preferred BUT it can be quite expensive, so finding a home brand one is more than enough. You may buy all the ingredients (if you wish) and mix them together with massage oils such as Olive, Grapeseed and Almond (so it is easier to apply to your face).

These products will cost anything between $4.00-$12.00 each. It does depend if you buy organic or not as price differences will vary a lot, but benefit your skin heaps.

Mix the products in a bowl with the oil you have chosen. Apply generously all over your face and use your fingers in a circulator motion. Make sure you focus more on your “T-Zone” (the area around your forehead, down the bridge of your nose, underneath your nostrils to your chin)

As shown (above) use your fingers. If you want to get all fancy dancy, you can purchase a dry brush

or exfoliating gloves

After 2-5 minutes you can wash off using lukewarm water. You can let it sit on your face for 5-10 minutes (but that depends if you have the time). Once all washed, you may pat dry.

STEP THREE: MOISTURISE

After exfoliating you need to moisturise your skin. You need to hydrate your skin. It’s pretty much the same theory if you were not to consume any water intake in several days. You get dehydrated and then get sick. Just as skin, skin gets dehydrated and appears rough and dry. Use the following Shopping Guide below:
