Mooky06s' Guide to Beautiful, Healthy Skin!

Hello everyone! Yes it is me again :) haha. I hope everyone is doing well and had a lovely day so far. I’m here to share my ideas and some knowledge in hopes that it will assist you in having something near (or close) to beautiful and healthy skin. I hope that women and men find this myTake useful and informative.

We all know there are different skin types; here is a break down if you don’t know already:

Normal skin- No imperfections and radiant complexion

Sensitive skin- Constant redness, dry and reacts to most skin care products

Dry skin- Dull, rough and red patches

Oily/combination of skin- Black heads, shiny skin and blemishes (mostly in your T-zone)

Mooky06s' Guide to Beautiful, Healthy Skin!

1. Determining and understanding your skin type

It is important to be able to determine and understand your skin type, as you don’t want to harm your skin more by using the wrong products. A way to find out what skin type you have is too simply wash your face using a gentle cleanser, pat it dry, wait for an hour, and gently dab your face with a tissue.

If you have normal skin, your skin will be nice and smooth with no imperfections. Sensitive skin will have some minor red patches in some areas of your face, dry skin will appear flaky and combination skin will be greasy and that will be observant on the tissue you dabbed your face with.

2. Exfoliating

We all know that exfoliating your skin is highly recommend and critical to allow new skin cells to rise to the surface. And if necessary (which is always), strip away any dead skin cells that may have been accumulated over some time. If you don’t exfoliate, you’re allowing pores (which causes acne and blemishes) to appear on your skin to create a rough, sand paper look to your complexion.

Exfoliate skin by using Baking Soda, Sugar crystals, Sea salt, Oatmeal, Kefir (which is basically fermented milk, somewhat similar to yoghurt) or honey. Just mix some of it up with some massage oil (olive, almond, grapeseed) so it’s easier to use. Be generous with your amounts, and apply it to your face. Use your fingers in a circulation motion and massage. Allow it to let it sit on your face for 5-10 minutes before washing it off.

3. Moisturising

Use the following as a guide based on the skin type you have:

Normal skin- Since your skin is already perfect; all you can do to help maintain it is to apply ointment at night to help protect your skin.

Sensitive skin- Any moisturising cream that is oil-free, paraben-free and hypoallergenic will do you wonders

Dry skin- Moisturising cream that contains greater oil content will absorb through your skin to hydrate your skin cells.

Oily skin- Look for lotions instead of creams. Find something that has exfoliating ingredients like lactic glycolic and salicylic acids as it will not only moisturise your skin, but also benefit, from it slowly exfoliating your skin

Combination skin- Find a lotion that has no acids (e.g. Cetaphil Aveeno and Neutrogena)

4. Exercising

Exercising helps blood flow and nourishes the skin cells and keeps them vital. Sweating (believe it or not) can help with healthy skin as sweating opens pores up and releases build-up that was contained in them previously.

5. Eating healthy and drink PLENTY of water

What is beautiful and healthy in the inside will show on the outside. Eating things like avocados, tomatoes, eggs, pomegranates, walnuts, beans and even salmon will help foster your skin and help it maintain flawless. Without adequate water intake, your skin will appear duller, while wrinkles and pores will be more visible, so make sure you drink plenty of water!!!

6. Other

Attending a sauna and/or natural hot spring will always benefit your skin. Sunscreen, wearing protective clothing and seeking shade will get your skin away from the harsh weather conditions that can cause damage and even skin cancer. Using a dry brush, artificial loofah or even an organic loofah can help with exfoliating. Plus using a facial mask at the end of every week can help extract the weekly pores you may have caught during the week!
