Ummm... But there was a time where is was perfectly fine to own black people. There was a time where it was fine to execute people for committing adultry. Don't you think that there was a shift in morality? I took socialogy and this is what they taught in the corse. Morality CAN change.
Well there's a difference between the popular beliefs of a time period and the truth. That applies to other things like physics and biology - people believed things in the past that were just incorrect. It's arguable, but that should apply to morality too. I mean why would what's actually right or wrong change? Unless you think what's right or wrong strictly depends on what is socially acceptable... but in that case one might as well say there is no right or wrong whatsoever.

This is why I seldom spend the time and effort to write a take. You notice how most of the people that come in to flame you either pick out one passage and spin it into their own reason to argue with you, even if it's out of context or merely one small part of a bigger picture?
Or more often, the trolls read the title and then chime in with some antagonistic rhetoric having never actually read much if any of your well thought out take?

People here are almost never open to the views of others. Most of the time, they just want to spew on about their own views of race, religion, politics, abortion, whatever... with ZERO intent of considering the informed opinion of someone with an opposing view.
