8 Fitness & Weight Loss Myths Put Bluntly

Firstly im not a personal trainer etc but I know enough from a shit-ton of research on the internet, losing about 10-20kg and talking to my martial arts coaches but lets cut the bullshit and start the list.

1. if you weigh a lot you are fat

This is probably my biggest pet peeve on this list, someones weight is not always relevant to their fitness for example do you think Alistair overeem (pro mma fighter) is fat, no he is ripped but he weights 112 kg (246 pounds) some other examples of this are (Prime) mike Tyson, Brock lesnar (debatable) and practically any bodybuilder or high level athlete also me when I was fat, i weighed 70kg now I am also 70kg but thinner than most people my age, and yes this can also mean Bmi is obsolete.

2. I'm fat because I'm big boned or my genetics make me like this

Firstly the only thing "big bones" do is make you literally heavier (refer two 1) due to them being denser, examples of this are islanders (Australian Term) and your genetics, I was originally taught that genetics define your physique then I figured out how to actually diet etc and changed my physique completely going from a potato (yes I like insulting my old self) to "normal".

3. I need to cut fat from my diet

You are warranted in believing this because its what the food industry wants you to think, my reasoning for this is two long to explain here so I will just list off my sources "Fed up, that sugar film, several you tube videos, PDHPE books, experience, common sense and several other films on netflix, So what is making me fat then you ask? Sugar is to blame, for example the healthy limit is 37.5 grams for males, 25 for females (adults), the average in America is 82 grams a day, now you see where the obesity problem comes from. PS im not saying any amount of any fat is good but some is also essential for example our good old caveman selves would of eaten their fare share of fat, but just avoid un-natural fat eg the one in most processed food.

4. Okay if sugar is bad for me I'll just eat that 0 sugar food on the supermarket shelf

NO NO NO, stop now. Sugar is 10x more addictive than cocaine so when you had that 0 sugar food did you notice a taste difference, no because it is full of sweeteners that are used to trick people into thinking they are eating healthy when they are just making themselves worse (sweeteners are just as bad as sugar) so if you want to get rid of sugar look for things ether 100% natural ingredients dont even let stores marinate meat for you, or look for food without sugar, high fructose corn syrup or any weird sounding shit.

5. You can work off a shit diet

Ok have fun let me just show you a chart, but by all means get the energy from shitty food to outdo the fat you are using to burn it off while your body is making more.

No these people are not healthy and fat acceptance is in most cases a death sentence, but wait dont shoot my yet SOME people have little control over their fat% such as people with Hypothyroidism one disease among many that effects your health majorly but they know who they are and this isn't directed at them but on a side not its also not impossible for them to be thin etc but its a hell of a lot harder. Also some people are healthy and chubby a term that is two broadly used nowadays but being rail thin is also not always healthy as I will address next

7. being extremely thin is healthy

People such as bro bodybuilders and models eg here

These people yes they look good to some or most they have extremely good genetics, in the case of the bodybuilders steroids and the constant monitoring of professional nutritionists, trainers and i dont know in the case of the VS models but in the case of the bodybuilders hitting the gym for at LEAST 3 hours a week 6 days a week. This is another reason anorexia is a huge problem, people are in my understanding trying to get to looks like this or similar without the guidance of professionals etc and instead starving themselves.

8. eating badly is cheaper

okay you almost have a valid point, but I'll be sure to ask you in 30 years or in other words your health bills say otherwise.
