How I Lost Weight: 10 Weight Loss Tips

I started my diet 6 months ago now I've managed to lose 25 pounds. So I'm going to share my diet with you. Weight loss is 70% what you are eating. Here is what you should do:

Tip 1:

Set a goal for yourself such as losing 20 pounds, then buy a scale and start tracking your weight loss i.e. track with an app or just write it on a paper.

Tip 2:

Cut out all junk food, cut out all fried food, no more salty foods and sugary foods i.e. soda pop, chips, candy, pizza, fries, burger, cake etc.

Tip 3:

Cut out carbs, so cut out bread, rice, pasta AND cut out cheese so no more mozzarella.

Tip 4:

Stop eating at fast food restaurants i.e. McDonalds. Stop eating at restaurants in general and if you decide to eat out then eat a salad or fish. There is stigma against ordering a salad at a restaurant this needs to end because there are some great salads out there do a quick google search for recipes and you will discover the world of salads! There is tuna salad, avocado salad, egg salad, etc.

Tip 5:

Eat 3 meals a day breakfast, lunch and dinner. Do not snack through out the day! If you feel like snacking have some fruit like an apple or banana. It is good to eat a plentiful breakfast and eat less during dinner.

Tip 6:

Fill your diet with vegetables and protein i.e. zucchini, broccoli, carrots, bell peppers, chicken breast, eggs, hummus, fish, a little bit of unsalted almonds, peanut butter(in small portions and organic is better) etc. Also eat some fruit however vegetables are more important

Tip 7:

Drink lots of water

Tip 8:

Cook with a very tiny amount of oil and use olive oil! Also its better to bake food i.e. baked fish

Tip 9:

its good to have plain black coffee because it suppresses hunger

Tip 10:

Do not eat at night! I stop eating after 6-7pm after my dinner.

Some More Tips

- When i began my weight loss i did not quit everything right away. I still ate bread but i started eating brown bread, then i would only eat 1 slice of brown toast, eventually i stopped eating bread altogether.
- Weight loss is about self control. For example, you are eating dinner with your family and you're eating some vegetable stir fry and they're eating pizza, do not eat it even if they offer you some. Even if all your favourite junk food snacks are on a table in front of you, you have to control yourself and not eat them.
- I DO NOT deprive myself completely of foods i love. For example, i LOVE chocolate so i buy a chocolate bar and i eat 1 little piece of it for the day then i leave it in the kitchen cupboard (out of sight out of mind)

- I want to mention that I lost weight without going to the gym. I only went to the gym 4 times so far which of course is not good because exercise will help with your weight loss and speed it up. That does not mean that i did not exercise at all. I stay on my feet and stay active. For example, i take afternoon walks usually 30 minutes around my neighbourhood. Another thing i do is take the bus half way to my destination and walk the remainder of the way. It is a good tip to set a schedule and work out at the gym 2-3 times a week.
- Lastly I would like to say that weight loss is a process and most importantly a life style change. This means that you cannot go back to eating junk foods after your weight loss or else you will yo-yo and gain back the weight you lost.
