How To Lose Those Extra 5 Pounds


My sister started working out and eating healthier a few months back. She been making a lot of progress, but is still having trouble losing those last few extra pounds. So I gave me some tips on how to get them off and keep them off.


1. Portion control: Sides should be about the size of your palm and meats should be the size of your fist. You can eat as many vegetables as you want as long as they're not deep-fried.


2. Cut the fat: Avoiding fatty foods is a given, but also stay away from salad dressings. Try oil and vinegar instead.


3. Avoid temptations: If you love pizza or Buffalo wings keep your distance. You can eat some of your favorite foods in moderation, but others should be avoided all together.


4. Get more active: If you already exercise try taking the steps instead of the elevator, park farther away from your destination so you have to walk more.

5. WATER: Drink a lot (and I mean a lot) of water and avoid drinks with a lot of sugar. If you love drinking soda try switching to diet.


6. Eat smart: Some restaurants give you more than one portion on a plate. Box half of it before you start eating so you are not tempted to eat all of it.


7. More fruits: Fruits taste good and they're good for you.


8. Buy smaller plates: If you have big plates at home you'll be tempted to put more on them. Smaller plates make it look like you have more food on your plate, so you won't eat as much.
