What's the most expensive kitchen appliance you own?

For me it's the Vitamix emulsifier that I bought last year. I think I spent about $400 on it, and it was totally worth every penny. I use it pretty much every single day to make fruit and vegetable smoothies, and I use it to make my own almond milk too. It's so bad ass!

(In case people aren't sure what it is, the Vitamix is basically the super high-speed high-powered blenders that juice bars use...the ones that make smoothies incredibly smooth. Haha.)

We own an commercial meat slicer. $2000. Bought it bc we used to have lots of guests and buying cold cuts from the deli was way expensive.

Not much anymore. We moved even further away making it more difficult for people to come out just for a day long visit.

Besides the normally expensive big appliances, I have a top of the line Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I bake so much that I got tired of my simple hand mixer and saved up for one of those babies. Best thing I ever bought for the kitchen.

So, so true. I remember back when I only used a hand mixer (or literally mixed by hand), and I always wonder why I waited so long to get a decent stand mixer.

Do you bake for fun? Or maybe as part of a business?

Mostly for fun, but I have sold some of my baking. It's difficult to make a profit though since the ingredients are so expensive at the grocery store.

I like to bake for my family and friends.

My stand mixer, its decked out. And I'm in love. Best investment of my life. It was just under $400. I do cakes and other baked goods so it was more of an investment, but worth every penny.

I would like to open a bakery in a few years, but as of right now it's just a hobby. I would be making a business right now, but that would require me to convert my kitchen into a commercial kitchen. Now thats getting into expensive kitchen appliances ;)
