My dad won't let me play football?

I have always loved football, but this school year spiked up my interest. I am good at throwing and know the rules, but my parents won't let me play for my school. Since I am academically successful (straight A's) they think I should get a new math workbook, and complete it during the summer. They think I'm not built for it, when they haven't even seen me play. Also, they both hate football, and that is probably the main reason preventing me from playing. How do I convince them because Football Workouts are tomorrow? Thanks!

Football is a dangerous sport ; a lot of risks come with it. Although I think that your parents are forgetting how important it is to do physical activity and to multitask also. Prove to them that you can manage both football and your schoolwork and they just might be happy with this. I think that you should complete your math schoolwork over the summer, that's a great technique for excelling in school and it will help you all throughout your educational career! It seems that you have great parents, they just care about you.

If you know of an inspiring figure your parents are likely to respond to, use them! Like Einstein. He was very slow and was believed to be stupid as a kid. Look him up.

There's more to life than academics. Sports and exercise are an important part of your overall health physically, mentally and psychologically. The human body is not designed to sit around studying all day. I think your parents are very short sighted, but they are the ones making the rules.

All you can do is try to talk some sense into them. Talk to them maturely instead of coming across like a whining kid. You are more likely to have success that way.
