Chances are you have eaten fair amounts of foods just to keep up with the demands of your sport. That should probably change, but don't just focus on calories. Google terms like 'insulin resistance', 'carbohydrate control', 'glycemic index' and 'low carb' eating plans. I am not advocating any particular diet, but these topics are a good way to look at how foods affect weight gain and loss.
It's can be kind of ineffective to use something like running to offset caloric intake. Yeah it will knock a bit of the edge off, but one ice cream sundae, which most of us like, will totally smack a two mile run in the face. But if you do run, remember that treadmills don't produce the same impact as running outside, because the machine is relieving your body of the necessity to maintain balance and control forward movement.
Ideal weight? Who knows? At 5-2 i've seen women look optimally height-weight proportionate at no more than 120, but body types vary. And of course you will need some of your body mass to continue pitching.

softball chicks... back in highschool... eyecandy. yea, just keep up with the workout. if you're on a treadmill... put the incline all the way up. some stairmaster will tone some butt out too. calories dont matter much as long as you're eating right and working out right. results can take a bit but worth it. commitment is the biggest challenge
That's really good for a softball player my friend is 5'3 and 165 I think. She has a lotta muscle lol and has a very athletic body. Sure she's never mistaken for a model but people always ask her if she's a pro athlete.
