This is most likely a dumb question.. But why does water get that old taste so quickly?

Is it just me, or does water get an old unrefreshing taste within like 10 minutes of just sitting in a glass or bottle? And does anyone else notice this? And if so do you hate the weird taste too? At the same tome, i just really don't like to drink water, so that could be part of the reason as well =/

It's the water settling, from the tap it comes out freshly filtered. From bottled water it's been sitting so long/it is filtered differently and therefore the taste is "always" "fresh"

Sometimes, it can have a metal-like taste that results from traveling through old copper pipes. A water filter or purifier should help remedy the issue.

It could be the scant traces of sediment in it that settle when it sits. Best guess. Google has the real answer.

I drink alkaline water (freshest it can get) and I don't taste it at all.

That'd be Distilled Water.
