Ever caught a children's disease as an adult?

If my Google self-diagnosis is right, I'm pretty sure I did. I have pretty much all the symptoms of the Hand, foot and mouth disease.

Mine seems pretty mild compared to the pictures but it still sucks. My hands and feet are numb and my throat is sore. One thing they don't mention thought (maybe because it mainly affect infants?) is that walking can be a PITA.

It literally feels like walking with 2 dozen premature pimples right under your heel.

The timing also couldn't have been better, with what I had planned today...

I pretty sure it's HFMD guys, the blisters got worst yesterday and I can clearly see them on my feet now, My heels are basically a sea of blisters.

Could be any number of things. Many diseases have variable presentations at any age, but based on what you've stated here, I'd be more inclined to suspect Primary Raynaud's Phenomenon and an unrelated sore throat than a more serious systemic illness.

My mom caught 5th disease and HPV (Human Parvovirus), which are both children's diseases. She get's sick with colds and the flu almost instantly when exposed to her allergens since both diseases have just deteriorated her immune system. Scary shit.

I'm an EMT and you would not be the first adult I've seen contract this. It's a bacterial infection from placing your hands or feet near your mouth with the bacteria on your hands.

Hand-Foot-Mouth disease is caused by an infection of the A-16 Virus (my good friend had it a few times). Usually caused by nasal and throat discharge, saliva, puss like fluid from blisters, and things like someone sneezing and coughing into your mouth. It is a virus, and not a disease. It's actually different from foot-mouth disease (if you didn't know that).

Crazyced: I suggest that you make an appointment with your doctor immediately to have antibiotics catch it early so it doesn't become worse. You can actually get a viral meningitis from it, and a few other serious sicknesses if you don't treat it early enough.

Yes u can my son and daughter had it and I ended up with it however it usually only shows up in adults with weakened immune systems and yes it really sucks took me almost three weeks to get over it
