I'm giving myself a year to get back into shape. For me, it's not about hitting a certain weight, but about looking & feeling better. If you want to be healthier, you can give yourself a time period, & try to make some realistic goals. I am eating healthier & exercising 5 times a week. I work with a trainer 3 times a week, & do some strength training & general exercises on a mat. And then 2 additional days I do cardio by using an elliptical & treadmill. On the days I don't go to the gym, I take a 1/2 hour to 1 hour walk. If you can't go to the gym, you can do exercise routines on youtube, & that cost nothing. I don't think the goal should be to be stick thin, but just be healthy.
Thanks for the response! Yeah, I definitely do not want to be stick thin. I just want to look/feel healthy. I eat pretty healthy and I don't eat that much of it, I just need to start exercising. The problem with me is that I'm not motivated (having depression doesn't help with motivation either). So, how do you motivate yourself?
Your height and weight? As long as your weight is proportional to your height, you should be fine.
I think your fine the way you are... your very short and very voluptuous young lady, there are plenty of sites out there where you can find out what your target weight is for your age and height. Most of them are not 100% accurate but they will give you an idea of where you should be! You have nice curves from what I can see in the pictures so you don't want to completely lose those. I'd say you should find out what your supposed to weight and go from there!
You shouldn't be asking other people you should be asking yourself. Other people will never be satisfied. Trust me. Fuck what other people want you to look like. Lose weight so you can feel healthy.
Thanks haha. That usually is my mindset, but sometimes I just get insecure. My main goal is to look and feel healthy. I'm also asking just so I can get an idea of a goal weight. Thanks for the response!

you've got the shape.. shouldn't take a whole lot. anyway you slice it you'll want to take off no more than 2lb. a week.. otherwise when you do lose the diet for any reason you're going to gain it back at an incredible rate.
try digging into all the lo-carb theory... Google terms like insulin... insulin resistance... blood sugar levels.. blood sugar spikes and so forth.
I think 20 would be enough to trim up without overdoing it. Getting rid of all body far isn't attractive and will affect those awesome curves you're rocking.
Haha thank you. I definitely want to keep my curves!! I'm actually really happy to hear you think I should only lose 20lbs. I honestly thought I needed to lose like 50-60lbs!! I won't know how I'll look/feel until I lose it though, so I guess I'll start with a goal of 20lbs and see how that is.
Different body types show weight differently. It comes off all areas about the same depending on how you exercise, but yeah, considering how your body type is, you can get away with holding onto more than someone shaped like a pear or stick. I much the same, except in the make anatomy of being able to wear the weight. Good luck!
As much as you want, but I wouldn't focus on weight since it doesn't equal being fit
Yeah, I know it doesn't equal being fit. I want to lose weight AND be toned and healthy.
Since muscle is more dense than fat it weights more, therefore weight is a terrible measurement of fitness. However body fat percentage is a great scale to go by, between %8 and %12 body fat is considered essential weight for women ( men is much lower at %3 to %5)
For more info on body fat percentage here is the Wikipedia page

In my opinion bmi is also a terrible measurement since it is severely outdated and should be removed from organizations that use it.
I want to 30 pounds is enough, not equivalent weight and health, often unfair in my fat is also a kind of beauty
only 5'3"? wether you lose or not you won't change
Your 5'3.. I would say 30 lbs :)
20 to 30 lbs
about 30 lbs
