As @PANDAmonium mentioned, eating smaller but more frequently is a good way to kick start your metabolism. I recently (within the last 2 months, I'd say) got into trying to limit my meals somewhat and I have to say, it did wonders for me.
My appetite was pretty frequent throughout the day, since I wasn't filling myself to the limit each meal. So almost right away, the hunger part of metabolism and dieting kicks in. But for your situation, it's honestly hard to tell. Your body adapts quickly, but not in terms of a few hours. It depends on what your eating has been like in the last few days and weeks, rather than in just 1 evening.
Your body is actually a lazy machine and is hard to pull out of its habits. Additionally, it likes to form "norms" in order to deal with patterns in your diet and exercise routines. That's why it's important to diversify your workouts, so that you body doesn't simply adapt to them. This is less important with dieting particulars, except for how often/how much you eat. Once you form that pattern of eating smaller but more frequently, your body adapts and learns that it doesn't need to keep nutrients around in fat stores because it will be getting more soon.
This is basically why your metabolism speeds UP if you eat less each time (but supplement it with more meals in return).

Well I would say no considering you had a massive meal at 7:30. But generally if you want to speed up your metabolism you want to eat small meals throughout the day rather than just 3 big ones. Right @Anon-ee-mous
