Is acne a BIG problem for girls?

I have a couple bumps on my face here and there. It's not like you see in those commercials, but my back is where it's bad, but I'm on Accutane and it should be gone in a two months tops. This may seem like I stupid question, but I am so self conscious about it, and if a girl says you make them happy will they care really? I'm like so afraid to act normal because I'm afraid and I don't really know...

Hey I'm on accutane too.. just started one month ago about... like its not bad but I wsa diagnosed with Severe acne so.. yeah.

like the drug made me breakout hard lol, which sucked because I had to go out to work and stuff.. very embarassing because sometimes I would notice people just glare at my forehead.. it sucked. and then my skin dried up and my lips too. same with inside my nose where I got 2-3 nose bleedds but I'm trying to keep that moisturized too so..

how are things with u?

I am on it too. I am approaching the end of my third month, and it is noticeably better, so hooray! I have the nosebleeds and the dry lips. You are lucky though that you are a guy. Since I am a girl I have to be on birth control and go have a blood test every month, which is a pain. Anyway, hang tough, it only gets better and better after about the second month. In the second month I actually got a bit worse.. Good luck with everything!

I just had a nose bleed right now when I went to the bathroom to blow my nose. I hate it when that happens lol. I also have to go get a blood test every month, I think anyone on accutane has to, to check if ur cholestoral isn't too high (which means it is having a negative effect on your body like an allergic reaction I think) anywyas, I'm halfway through my second month :) 2 1/2 to go

Aw. Some girls are shallow and will dismiss you because of it but you wouldn't want to date thme anyway so be yourself and try to find a sweeter girl cause if you try to date one of those girls who are WAY to picky they'll probably get at you for it.

There's guys like that too. Trust me I have acne too! D: there are guy jerks and girl jerks...

HOpefully your acne product works for you mines working in the process so hopefully it works out for both of us...

Well thing is I need to take this hardcore drug because I have severe acne which means the products you buy at any store won't help, even benzoyl peroxide is ineffective so I have to take isotretinoin (accutane) which is technically a derivative of Vitamin A in overdose form almost and it tries to atrophy my sebum glands. there's a chance it will never ever come back. (xept one or two here an there but not commonly anymore) :) I hope it works for me... the results are VERY varied for each person

Ohhh D: I want some!! Mines not severe in that case. But my face wash it kind of working I guess. Its so annoying..but I'm sure it's worse for you so I have no room to talk :0

I hope the medicine works for you...are they going to make you take pills for Vitamin A since it deprives you? ugh...i hate pills D: I just hate medicine period.

It was a very big problem for me for a long time its not a gender thing its based on genetics and other factors as well.

Acne on guys has never bothered me. All of the guys I have liked have had acne, and one of them had it so bad that he had to be on accutane for a long time before it cleared up. I don't think that the acne made any of them less attractive though.
