My kitty has scabies/mange and I'm freaking out because I heard humans can get it?

I've been hearing that humans can catch feline mange but I've been hearing two different final symptoms. Either it lasts forever on humans or they are unable to complete their life cycle.

I've had bed bugs before and so I'm kinda becoming paranoid about another infestation. I started steaming as soon as she was diagnosed and today I started taking borax baths two weeks after being exposed (as I was waiting to see symptoms but I'm getting impatient). I haven't been itchy really because I think it's mostly all in my head and i'm becoming sensitive to my skin.

So can the scabies on cats that can infest humans, complete their life cycle yes or no on a human?

It doesn't last forever, the mites can't complete their life cycle.

If your cat is being treated and you're cleaning any bedding, toys, collars, etc. regularly, you shouldn't have to go to such extremes to keep yourself from becoming infected. My sister works at an animal hospital and has never been infected with mange despite working with animals who have it.
