Eggs in general aren't healthy for you like so many believe. They've been linked to heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and some other illnesses because of their high cholesterol. One egg has more cholesterol than a big mac, but just like a big mac won't kill you if you have it once in a while, an egg won't kill you either. It just increases your risk of developing diseases.
Dr. Michael Greger has a series of videos all about nutrition and has done many on eggs and their effect on human health. He cites all of his sources, so if you want some real scientific evidence to back it up, he provides it lol. :)

It's not a bad thing as long as it's not everyday, eggs can contribute to high cholesterol if too many are consumed.

Yup it's fine. I eat about 20 eggs a week (usually 2-3 of them in a meal). I also don't shy away from using butter as my fat of choice over things like margarine (that I don't eat at all), or oil (which i use only when cooking food, not to top my food).

I recently had blood work done at the doctor's and my cholesterol is normal. :-D

I think that's a bit much no matter if you are overweight or underweight. Too much of anything is not very good. Overweight people are recommended to eat no more than 4 eggs per week. People who are in healthy weight or underweight can eat more but 4 per day is a bit much I think.
