Scared to ask my mom for braces?

So, basically I've been wanting them for almost three years now. We've been to the dentist in December and I was supposed to have two teeth removed and get braces in January. I've asked my mom several times in the past months when I'm going to get them but she keeps forgetting about it.
A couple of weeks ago I found a letter from the dentist saying that the insurance company doesn't cover the costs which I believe are like 3000 euros. My mom doesn't know that I read the letter. Now I don't wanna bug her about it cause I don't know if she might be having money problems and I don't wanna act spoiled but I also really wanna fix my teeth and just get it over with.
You think I should ask her what's gonna happen next or just leave it?

It sucks that the insurance won't cover it and it is a big amount of money but if the dentist says you need braces then you do, and it's your mums job to make sure it happens. So ask again, ask her if she made an appointment at the dentist for your braces, if she says she hasn't maybe you can offer to make the appointment yourself, that way you'll know it's gonna happen and you can put the date in your phone so you don't forget.

Even if your mum can't just cough up 3000 euros she can probably make a payment plan so don't you worry about the money that's not your job.

I'd say ask her, but you can also do your research and maybe see if you find a cheaper one? I ended up getting mine for less than half the normal price because a friend told me about this lady who was starting up her dentistry and wanted as many clients as possible. She ended up really bonding with my mom which is why it was less than half when it should've been half but it happened right when I was giving up too.

This is a very difficult situation if they are that expensive. Ask and see what happens.

If the answer is a straight no, it will be hard for you. You may have to go without for a few years, but braces will work up to the age of about 30, so it time you will be able to afford them for yourself.

I understand this will not resolve the problem now, but it can be sorted in the future.

This is a health problem, a minor one but still it's a health/wellness issue. It's not like you pestering her for expensive shoes or jewelery, this is about fixing/preventing anymore problems with your teeth.

So yes ask her again, maybe talk about how you know it isn't covered and work something out.

There's no harm in just asking. It is easier for your teeth to move around when you're young after all.
