You have to be naturally gifted and work extremely hard for years. It's next to impossible to get into the nba these days if you're under 6 feet tall; however there are a few guys who are shorter that made it it's only because they possess amazing ball handling and/or shooting skills that are also God-given talent combined with hard work. If you're 6'7" and up, then you should be able to make it with hard work if you're naturally athletic to some extent. Remember there's about 500 total players in the nba from the 3.5 billion guys on earth, it takes a lot to make it to the pros

I would assume you need to know some people and some scouting agents to make that work, but I don't see what's stopping you from getting your dream, except you.

practice and being pasionate about basketball and also dont be afraid to try out for the universities team over and over and even if they dont take you never give up. I think it was micahel jordan who was told he wasn't fit to play basketball when he tried to join a team I read somewhere. He sure showed them didn't he? :)
