    Fruit is great for you, but EVERYTHING is bad for you in excess. Fruits are very high in sugar and can be high (I think) in fat soluble vitamins, which your body only uses what you need and can build up in your fat until it poisons you. You could probably eat a pound of fruit a day in be fine unless you are really small, though. It is REALLY good for you!

    Fruit is good for you, but you can get overloaded on vitamin C you can always have to much of a good thing.

      Actually you can @Takada, there is a reason why there is a limit on things like multivitamins and how many of them you can take per day. Because some vitamins and minerals are actually toxic or bad for you when you consume them in to high of a dosage and at the very least will make you feel like crap if you consume to much of them, fitness and nutrition is part of my job so I kind of know what I'm talking about.

      Peeing will get some of it out yeah, but you would have to drink quite a bit of water or liquid for that to happen, as vitamins are absorbed throughout the entire body peeing is meant to get rid of liquidated waste. You may get some residue of it in your piss but overall it is absorbed into the body and used were it's needed.

      You can have vitamin overdose but chance of it happening from eating strictly fruit is low.
      You can spike your sugar level by having too much fruits.

      Mhmm, correct, though it is possible to get an overdose by eating if you eat really high vitamin C fruits

      You cannot get too much vitamin C from fruit. You'd have to drink about 200 fl oz of orange juice to get that much vitamin C and it doesn't even all get absorbed. That's about 200 oranges there. Multivitamins have limits because they have very high dosages of other vitamins. Fruit does not. You're comparing apples and oranges. You will not feel like crap if you consume a lot of vitamin C from fruit, because vitamin C actually improves your immune system. An excess is not absorbed if it's not needed. Vitamin C is not stored by the body.

      Furthermore, you do not get a sugar spike, because of the fiber in fruits.

      @Takada Well actually the Multivitamins I take give me my full daily requirements for every vitamin the body requires and then some extra stuff as well. And it is actually possible to get your daily requirement of everything.

      The advised daily requirement for Vitamin C is 85-90 milligrams, 1 gram is equal to a 1,000 milligrams a pepper for instance specifically a bell pepper has 186 grams per large pepper. An orange has 132 grams of Vitamin C in it and I could very easily eat 2 even 3 a day. Cooked Tomatoes has the largest though with 2 of them having 246 grams of Vitamin C in them. So you see it is quite easy to get it.

      An orange has 69.7 mg of vitamin C. 131 grams is the weight of one whole orange, you read the wrong number. A bell pepper has 95.7 mg of vitamin C. And a large tomato has 24.9 mg of vitamin C. So that's 28 oranges, 21 bell peppers, and 80 tomatoes just to hit the toxicity level. And then it's debatable whether it's actually toxic to get that much vitamin C from fruit. 246 GRAMS of vitamin C per tomato? What the hell did you use?

      And unlike other people I actually don't mind eating the peel, even eating absolutely no food at all I can still get my full daily value of every single vitamin my body requires. And several extra ones as well by taking 8 pills a day, 4 in morning and 4 in the evening.

      Ah, a large bell pepper. Details, details. That's about 6 bell peppers to reach toxicity levels then. Which, as far as I know, won't negatively affect your body in any way. Many people eat more than 6 bell peppers a day, especially if they're dried, pickled, or roasted. All studies showing negative side effects of too much vitamin C have been performed by feeding the subjects supplements, not fruit. So it hasn't been shown that there's such a thing as too much fruit.

      Sure there is, while it may not deal actual damage to the body it can and will screw you up with the runs, stomach aches, actual aches and other stuff. And actually the average human adult consumes 50 grams of fructose ( which fruit has ) which is actually the toxicity level and young adults consume even more.

      At the end of the day you can have to much of a good thing, no matter what it is, and it is stupid and ignorant to think otherwise. To much of anything can have a negative effect on you it may not be life threatening but that doesn't mean it won't have adverse effects on you.
