Is it normal to not eat breakfast?

I just don't know! Usually I just wait until lunch, eat a big lunch, and a big dinner.. I do eat breakfast on school days tho! I also snack in between, so I know I am getting my nutrition. Does anybody else not eat breakfast?

This morning, I decided to eat breakfast, and I am actually shocked at how much I missed it! I ate 2 bowls of cheerios, and 1 apple, along with some fruit punch. It tasted SOOOO good! :)

i won't remind you of the old saying that crossed my mind the moment i read this post, but i will tell you that breakfast is extremely important.

firstly, you need energy to help you perform your daily tasks. you need simple carbohydrates and fructose in the morning.
when your body is not provided with sufficient fuel (in form of energy rich food), it breaks down your proteins i. e., muscles (since they are easy to break down, compared to fat) in order to meet the body's energy requirements. so you end up losing muscle mass.

secondly, a heavy breakfast prevents one from overeating in the next meal.

thirdly, the logic behind having the heaviest meal as early in the day as possible is that the body gets more time to digest it properly.
it is said that one should have a light dinner, and then go to sleep after 3 hours.

so have a good, heavy breakfast consisting of fruits, simple proteins like eggs, milk, fish, mushrooms, quinoa, flatbread and milk.
limit your consumption of processed food. eat cereals only once a week.
always eat fruits first. if you consume something heavy before eating fruits (that take a long time in digesting), fruits will start converting into alcohol, inside your stomach

Its pretty common for people to skip breakfast. But its actually really bad for you. You see a lot of people skip it because their not hungry or just not in the mood to eat or whatever. But breakfast is the most important meal to have because while your sleeping your body burns a lot and you need the macros early in the day... Not having breakfast slows the metabolism dramatically and can lead to being overweight. If your not going to have breakfast than at least have toast, boiled egg, granola bar, etc,,,, THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT FOR YOUR HEALTH!!:)

Some recent scietific researches have shown that not having breakfast may not be a bad things after all (at least, not for everyone), and could actually be a good thing in some aspects. Some athletes and bodybuilfers, for example, like to fast in the morning in order to achieve favorable hormonal effects - like insulin sensitivity and enhancement of growth hormone secretion.

But that would depend a lot on the current state of your health, your activities through the day and the existence of chronic diseases. For a more appropriate and personalized opinion, you should see a doctor and a nutritionist.

It needs a good charge of fuel to get you going and prevent cravings through the day. Always best to eat a good breakfast.

So I should get back into a routine of eating cereal? Normally I'm not just hungry in the morning... what should I do?

Cereal is a good choice as long as it's not packed with sugar. Pair it up with some fresh fruit for extra vitamins and minerals. It'll help stabilize your blood sugar and give you enough energy to make it until lunch. Remember that quantity is also important - most servings of cereal is one cup. Measure it out and you'll be surprised how small that really is. So don't overdo it, either.

So, Is it ok if I eat a bowl of cheerios, and an apple? Or can I just eat a pop-tart and screw it, because I'm not normally hungry in the mornings, except on a school day, then im all for breakfast :D

*laughs* You can do whatever you like. An occasional pop-tart won't hurt, but the Cheerios and an apple will do you much more good in the long run. Take it from someone who lost 2/3 of their stomach to surgery. You can eat more in one meal than I can eat in a day. So I've had to learn a lot about diet and nutrition. I'm just passing along what I've learned. :)

Alright! Thanks :) I will try to find a box of cheerios, and make sure there is an apple in the fridge! If not, Ill just stick with a small bowl of cheerios, at least that way I have some nutrition! :)

Lol honestly I hate breakfast. I can't. I try eating all my meals before 8 pm at least so I dont go to bed after eating.

I eat breakfast on school days, only because I need the "wake up boost" and plus, I know I won't eat until noon, and I need the energy to be awake during classes :D
