Do you feel that veganism and/or vegetarianism are not achievable in 3rd world countries?

They both appear to be first world phenomena where people get to choose what to eat and what not to eat.

In third world countries where food is scarce and difficult to come by wouldn't vegetarians and vegans have an especially difficult time?

Actually, it's quite the opposite. The only reason meat, dairy, and eggs are so affordable here is because they are subsidized by the government. If the government didn't put billions of dollars into the animal agriculture industry every year, many of us wouldn't be able to afford to eat such a lavish lifestyle of meat and dairy. I travel quite a bit and always find that produce is in extreme abundance and very cheap outside of 1st world countries. I also have a friend who went vegan and she's very much plant based. Her father is really successful and rich, he's an immigrant from Ecuador and was born into a very poor family. He literally said to her once "Why do you actually want to eat poor people food?" because in his country, only the richest families could afford to eat meat and dairy and all the poor people ate the fresh fruits and veggies. So veganism is definitely achievable in third world countries depending on their location, in fact a lot of poor people don't have a choice. Meat is a luxury in some countries, it's pretty much the opposite here though. Maybe that could explain our obesity epidemic lol.

It depends. If they live in a highly vegetated area then vegetarianism would be their main option. In that case, meat would be scarce. But if they live in a landlocked region with little vegetation then vegetarianism isn't really achievable.

For those who have struggles to get enough food, choosing to become a vegan, ergo, choosing what to eat and not to eat, is a luxury they can't allow. Many of them would be very lucky to even eat every day.
