Do some girls take the pill primarily to avoid period pain?

My GP suggested i go on the pill due to awful PMS. She also suggested alternatives too, so i am going to try those first before going on the pill. There's too many side effects from taking it. I will consider it , if the alternatives aren't effective 😊

I take the pill for that reason because I basically can't go to school for a few days when I have my period and have immense back and stomach pain for at least a week and a lot of mood swings. It's really bothering me in normal life so I take the pill.

no i don't take the pill... concerning period pain i either deal with it or take a few pain killers that's it..

As a contraceptive but does have benefits of stable hormones and with my present Pill just one period a year

Yes, we do. Especially young girls (like 12 or something) primarily take the pill because of painful and/or irregular menstruation. But there can be a whole lot of other reasons as well (e. g. pimples, hair growth, ...)
