Have I ruined my face forever?

I put wax on my face. And then I tried to take the residue off with castor oil and a cotton pad. Then the cotton pad got stuck and it looked like I had feathers stuck on my face. Then I washed it all off with make castor oil and hot water. Then I put some nail polish remover on it. And now I can still feel some residue, but it looks like there is nothing there. What should I do? :(
