Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yMy personal trainer... he made it enjoyable because he's great to be around. But also because I told him to make sure he mixes it up so I have a huge variety of workouts as I will vet bored quickly with the same thing over and over; and he has done that and made it different each time. When I started noticing results (looking better, feeling better, able to do more) that has provided some motivation. Now I find I actually really enjoy my training as it is an outlet - especially when we do boxing.

A good workout is truly the best sort of therapy for me. Even when I'm super stressed out, I can always count on the gym to set me straight. :P

I try to get motivated to do some more exercise, and to give 110% when I play the two sports I do. But I just never can get the motivation. But someone who is a good motivational speaker when it comes to exercising is Eric Thomas, as well as Ray Lewis. The stuff they say is kinda inspirational, and i'm just annoyed I can't get myself to exercise more and get in shape.

+1 yI usually think of what I want to look like and I think about proving people who think that geeks are gross and I workout to get attractive and hopefully have a very nice body by the time I am a senior or 20 :)
I listen to either 80's music, Neon Indian, STRFKR, and this cool song ( Nimbasa Core- plasterbrain) and sometimes Lana Del Rey or old pop songs and most recently Cool for the Summer by Demi and Britney Spears - workout playlist on spotify xD00 ReplyI like how I feel as a result of working out - strong & healthy, & I like how it makes me look. Seeing myself in the mirror & in photos keeps me motivated.
Exercising with my boyfriend is a good motivator too. Like anything else it's a lot more enjoyable with someone you love.00 Reply
+1 yI don't have motivation.. I have discipline, motivation gets you started and discipline keeps you going

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI fell in love with fitness and health. I get severely bummed out if I miss a workout. What definitely set me on the right path was watching episodes of "Extreme Makeover Weightloss Edition" on YouTube. i was so amazed by those people, changing their lives, and I thought, "Wow. If they can do it, so can I."
Once you get into it, and start seeing results, it becomes an addiction.00 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yWhat keeps me motivated is the fact that I go with my parents so they will carry me there if they have to lol. But it helps if you go with someone. Also it's fun to see that you get stronger ( in my case ) or lose weight. So keeping track of your progress helps a lot, in the beginning ( 2 months back, yeah still a newbie here but I give up easily :P ) I could barely lift 10lbs = +/-5kg ( if I'm not mistaken ). and now I can do double :3 thats a great feeling.
Good luck and hang in there!00 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI've been wearing the same size clothing for almost a decade due to the fact I was on the chubby side when I was younger. I just know if the clothing starts to feel a bit tight I need to get more exercise and eat a bit better. I also don't want to be overweight like my parents.

+1 yCuz I love it-specifically long runs :D my motivation is that I wanna look great and keep my weight down and blood sugars manageable (im a type 1 diabetic) and also i feel like shit when i dont run so... yea
00 ReplyYou have to choose to do it even when you don't want to. No motivation required. It's a mind set, it's discipline... seeing gains is definitely the biggest reward. And the hell are y'all posting pictures, damn it?

+1 yFor me, my motivations is the goal I wish to achieve. I don't have an idealistic weight or look I want to achieve but rather how I can improve my stance and ability to carry more weights.
00 Reply 667 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I need a good body, had rough past, I don't wanna be tossed like a tin can again by anyone, or don't wanna let anyone suffer like me, so I need to be strong. So I can help any and everyone anytime.
