Well, in the end, they both can. I'm overweight (not sure if you guys would call me a "whale"...at least to my face, though I do enjoy the compassion in that sort of characterization), and what I can say is that I got MY man! I had plenty of partners when I went dancing, had guys who dated me and asked me out, and I'm currently planning my wedding to a very handsome (average build) guy who is the dearest and kindest man I've ever known. He could have been with any number of women, but he chose me. There is a definite culture based preference for thinness right now, but, you know what? Bigger girls (and guys) can find love too. We all are deserving of it, and believe it or not...we can have a happy ending, whether we are a size 6 or a 16. Not everyone will feel this way, but all it takes is the right man.
Horrible, but wrong. The thin girl could be more fit, muscular and have more stamina. But then again, girls rarely fight to the death to win a man...
Personally I want to be with a person who is fit and has the energy to have fun and enjoy life. You just don't have the same level of pep when you are overweight as you do when you are slim and fit. I am in my 40's and I run circles around so many young people because so many are not taking their health seriously, they eat junk food every day and don't exercise.

in my opinion it depends on what the girl is like, I mean yeah the fat girl might win but if the girl did it just because she wanted the guy and beat up the thin girl if the girl didn't do or say anything then I wouldn't and the fat girl just beat her up because the guy liked the thin girl better and being a scally then I wouldnt.

Here's how I think about it. Over-weight girl or healthy girl. Healthy girl. Why? Because I want a girl who has a great personality along with a healthy life style.

The one with the most confidence, less baggage and more fun personality. That goes along way than a simple image, because looks get old and people want a good conversation at the end of the day. Personality can make a person way more attractive or way more ugly, it does help determine who 'gets the man'.
definitely the thin girl. I don't care what everyone says on this site, in reality, guys go for the girl they think is hot and that is rarely the fat girl. And don't even tell me it's about the personality, because even if she has an amazing personality but she's fat (and ugly), they're not going to want her.
Appearances matter and we all know it. Hence all the fashion magazines, makeup, cosmetic surgery, etc.
If you're talking about moderately fat vs moderately thin, then I'd say guys are more into the thin girl.
If you're talking chubby vs extremely skinny, they'll go for the chubby.
If you're talking whale vs anorexic, they'll be for the anorexic

Not a guy, but I think it's sort of about who carries the weight better. Some girls look better thin, others look better heavier. Plus, I would think it was the guy's personal preference.
Okay...First off, why is the question asking who gets the guy?..What about who gets the girl OR guy? lol..Not all boys are skinny...Well it depends on the girl...She could be skinny and Really ugly and another being chunky and SUPER pretty...But in most situations, sadly, the thinner one gets the guy...
Face it -- fat is not attractive. Think about it, when celebrities gain weight we think, "Oh they've gotten fat!" An example is Eva Longoria. She is considered pretty by most. In 2008 when she gained weight for Desperate Housewives the media went CRAZY! She didn't even put on that much weight! Did her face change? No. She still had the same pretty face but yet people suddenly started picking on her because gained a few pounds.
