I think my girlfriend has epilepsy?

My girlfriend was sleeping and all of a sudden her body shakes & hands are like shaking a lot, & her breathing gets very heavy and she chokes to breathe like she stops breathing & then catches her breath. When she woke from having the shaking fit her eyes were just open like staring but not fully with it, after a few mins she came round and was saying her chest was hurting, her pulse was very fast and rapid. I'm very worried, could this be something serious?

Epilepsy is not uncommon and can be stabilized by taking meds regularly. Only a neurologist can say which ones and how much of them.
The dangers are
-a status epilepticus lasting too long, causing suffocation.
-swallowing his own tongue
-biting on his tongue
-falling and hurting himself

-No driving till he's 2 years seizure free
-Once the right meds are determined, he can be stabilized for 30 or 40 years without seizures.
No alcohol.

My sister used to be epileptic. This sounds a lot like what happens when they have an episode. Take her to her primary care doctor so they can refer her to a Neurologist

They need to run a few tests to find out exactly what it is, if it is epilepsy, they might prescribe medication depending on the severity
