Is 6'1 a good height for professional ballroom dancing?

its a good height, i am dancing in competitions... you just need a partner a little shorter than you when trying ballroom and not latin as in salsa, chacha, rumba or somthing

Yeah as long as the girl you are dancing with is shorter but not to short. Most ball room dancers are around 5'7" or taller, few taller than you which would be a bummer.

But the average for a Ballroom Dancer (male) is 6'3. I was wondering if there were any pros here.

Which is why I said 'wondered'. Yeah. Because I just got to the studio and most of the girls were tall, some similar to my height, a few even taller than me. And I'm so psyched like a noob right now. Because they're amazing. So I was just wondering. I'm suffering from a inferiority complex right now. So...

Just a piece of advise Asker, if you are a wee bit in the inferiority camp with taller than life real women, you may want to rethink Ball Room dancing. Most dancers I know (not ball room dancers) are turned off by an inferior thinking man. A female ball room dancer follows the man, it's a partner thing both parties depend on each other to put in a great dance routine, you being inferior will be picked up by your partner immediately. Don't make a fool of yourself. If you begin to feel ignored, that's the way they are saying go get some confidence.

@cindibb not the height lady, the skill. Oh my goodness. I didn't know that the human body could do that. I just wonder if I'm worthy of the lady I'll lead. She's a friend, see? She's already light years ahead of me. I've told she can find someone who is more than match for her. But sadly, I can't say no. I'm just having jitters about making this commitment. So I'm reading and watching all I can about Ballroom dancing. And the more I learn, the more it convinces me that this is serious stuff not just some hobby. But a commitment is a commitment. This is just an out of the blue question. Thanks for your opinion. Well said 'go get some self confidence'.
