I want to get into shape, help?

Hello, so my BMI is in the 30's. I want to lower it, but I'm poor and can't afford the gym. Any advice for me? I can't stay like this.

A lot of losing weight is diet. I'd recommend a lot of fruits and vegetables. Fruit more than anything. Because carbohydrates are what make you feel satisfied. But you have to make sure you're eating the right kinds of carbohydrates. You have to cut out all the sodas, the chips. As the unnecessary oils and chemicals will just ruin your metabolism. Drink lots and lots of water, surprisingly when you think your hungry it's your body telling you to drink something. Do not do any of those stupid "Lose 20 Pounds in a Month" videos or plans. Short term diets wreck your body. You're going to have to start slowly decreasing your calories (if you do it too fast then your body with think you're starving and you'll actually gain weight.) and whatever you do, do not binge on the bad stuff. Keep yourself busy when you start craving that stuff and eat some form of fruit. You can also do many exercises at home. Not all weight is lost through cardio. Maybe try yoga or Pilates at first, I've notice that improving your state of mind while becoming fit really helps you stay focused. Also, it's really good to have a support system. Keep in contact with friends and family. Don't give up on yourself! You have the power to change your life for the better.

There's nothing wrong with exercising outside. In a way, it's almost better as you'll get fresh air completely free of charge!

Assuming you don't already work out, start with walks. Short ones, then gradually increase the length/pace at which you walk. After about 2-3 weeks of brisk walks 3-4x/week, you can start jogging. Jogging at intervals works great, meaning jog for a couple hundred metres straight, then walk for about half that length. Rotate between the jogging/walking about 3 times or so and make adjustments over time as your cardio health/stamina improves.

Jump rope is a great and easy way to burn calories. Running and calistenics are also great if u truly commit to them. Also try simple dieting. Dont starve yourself just make better choices, you'll be surprised what cutting out soda and drinking more water can do to u.(Dancing, and swimming are also ways u can cut weight and be healthier)

Eat less. Count calories if you can't control your eating habits. Stop drinking candy (soda) and bread (alcohol).

You don't need a gym to maintain a normal figure. Go outside and stay outside.

Bored? Stop eating and find something to do.

Start walking everyday for 30-60 minutes, it's free. Try to reduce the amount of junk food you're eating. Getting into shape isn't that expensive really... Just change your diet and exercise
