How are bodybuilders judged? Aren't some things up to genetics?

E. g these two guys when I look as a layman, the guy on the left looks tighter and more defined than on the right, but how exactly do judges judge these people aren't some things genetics? I assume definition is important but is size just as important? Can a smaller guy with excellent definition win over a huge guy with good definition?

There are weight categories so a smaller guy won't be competing with a larger guy.

It's based on stuff like mass, definition, proportion (you can't have chicken legs but huge upperbody), symmetry, and stage performance (how confident you are, your posture when flexing, etc)

Genetics do play a role I suppose. As a body builder you need to have a big frame, how your muscles develop, how well your body reacts to steroids. Considering that any more anabolic steroids and these two guys would be dead lol I think it's fair game.

I think its judged on symmetry and overall even muscle development. If I were to judge these two. I would say the guy on the right wins because his arms match his body better. The guy on the left has small biceps compared to the rest of his body.
