Boyfriend weight comment; am I overreacting?

Anonymous
My boyfriend has decided that he needs to diet and decided to try the hollywood 48 hour diet. In the 3 years I've known him he's only gained like 15-20 pounds and he was already slim to begin with so I don't even notice it really. I've always been chubby, I was when I met him and unfortunately I did gain about 35-40 pounds over the 3 years we've been together but I actually lost 25-30 of those pounds in the past year and am back to a size 16. I've taken a break from any serious dieting/working out because I got really sick and I've been super busy with school. I told him I wanted to try it too and he gave me a bottle. I told him tonight I was going to start it tomorrow because I've been feeling pretty bloated lately and I think it would be a nice cleanse and hopefully I can transition back to dieting and working out from there. So after I told him about how I'm going to start it tomorrow he texted me back and said "Lucky you will be very sexy if you do lose weight" and I was like um thanks? and then he wrote back again and said "Hey.. it'd be hot". I wrote him back again and said "I am attractive the way I am..." and he got all pissy and was like "here we go. bye."

Obviously yes I'd like to continue losing weight but not just so I can "look hot". The health benefits of losing weight and how I feel are more important. And I just feel like the way he said that came off very rude. And then he didn't even try to back track or apologize. Chubby or not I still think I'm attractive, so reading that made me feel like he's basically saying I'm not attractive. Am I overreacting here?
