some mornings I'll wake up at 5am and decide it's not worth it to put in effort so I go back to sleep for an hour.
sometimes I wake up feeling refreshed after this extra hour, and sometimes I wake up feeling extra tired.
Today im extra tired.
Going back to bed does neither of those for me. Instead, it just decreases my chances of waking up to the next alarm. If I fall back asleep, there's a high chance that I will NOT get up in time to catch the bus. Besides, I get anxiety if I try to sleep in past my first alarm. I have 4 alarms, each 30 minutes apart, and I STILL worry and obsess over not having enough time.
It depends on the day for me too, but I usually can't go back to sleep so I just lay in bed miserably.

I find that the extra hour helps so I actually wake up more refreshed. I can't function throughout the day when I'm deprived of sleep. Lol.
Like you its 50/50. The thing I hate is getting up a half hour or 20 minutes before my alarm lock goes off cuz I gotta piss lol

It's helpful for me. Whenever I try to wake up very early, I regeret it and go back to sleep. No matter what I go back to sleep, my body doesn't tolerate it. I feel good after having some sleep. If I don't have my alarm clock set I end up sleeping for many hours, which I'm fine with.

me waking up at 5am is a foreign concept. I don't know how people do it. it will NOT happen unless I'm going to a camp or something really historically exciting is gonna happen.
so THAT SAID, the extra hour is always refreshing for me.
I always go back to sleep after i take my ADHD medication at 7:30am. Then once I wake up again it's extremely rare if I'm able to fall back asleep after my 8:15am alarm.

I always give myself more sleep if I can, haha. It's very helpful to me. I don't have an issue with oversleeping really.
50/50 its good but it cud also be bad. Still if you are feelings tired often you may have an iron deficiency or a medical problem.

My mom has that problem often,
Sometimes she can't donate blood.
When that happens we always have redmeat for dinner and she makes herself some spinach
@Waffles731 I'm actually trying a vegetation diet starting today so no red meat. I can't donate blood anyway though. I don't weight enough. I should probably get blood work done to see what's wrong but I have a phobia of needles and would rather be tired.

it makes me feel more tired, sometimes when i wake up in the morning i feel soo much tired and sleepy and when i go back to sleep i feel more tired, but a little fresh
I'm always refreshed, and I can sleep even longer :P
I think it depends on which part of the sleep cycle you're at or something for how you feel when you wake up. But I think getting the extra sleep will make you less tired, even if you don't feel it until the evening
I've heard that if you wake up in the middle of a dream then you'll feel tired, but if you weren't dreaming then you'll feel rested.

depends on when I have to get up... if it's over an hour, then I usually try to sleep again
I always go back to bed. There's no point getting up that early for me
i'm a bit less tired and the biggest difference is even if I sleep for 1 hours or 30 min my eyes hurt a lot less
