Obviously the answers are different for every human. However, here are a few things I do. I first check room temperature and adjust that if I can. That's rarely the issue. I'll then move to an ice-cold Coca-Cola. If I'm hungry, I get a small snack, usually cereal. But after those tricks, it's usually my mind. So, instead of fight it, I work with it. Grab a book and read. Not my phone. The reading will generally chill my mind and I'll find myself falling back asleep to the point that I actually can. Never phone and never work. TV is a weird alternative that may work.

Get older? That works awesome for me! 40s is way better than 30s and 30s way better than 20s. Other than that I like to take one shot of whiskey but you can't form your mind around a party. You make it about sleeping. If you make it about the party, and like me, you end up dressing up and going to the bar at 2 AM when you have work at 9 AM.
Another trick for me is to blast the air-con. My favored temperature is 17 degrees C or 62.6 degrees F. Then you have to snuggle in the blankets because it's so cold, especially if you're just in your underwear. You can fall back asleep quickly if your only source of warmth is a bed and blankets.
Yeah, like see what the hell is wrong with me. Usually pain... cold feet... gas. Cold feet is right about this time now a days soooo finding a solution to that. God, i really hope if I wake up in the middle of the night it's because I drank more than 3 glasses of milk... weird, I know but i'd rather that than my tooth or gum SCREAMING LIKE A FIRE ALARM. :')
- Warm milk
- Chamomile tea (milk, instead of water)
- melatonin

- rain ambiance
- nature ambiance
- slowwwww jazz (nothing to dance to)
- do some quick cardio (heavy jogging)
- Warm shower/bath
- read a book (maybe a boring one)

Well you could drink warm milk. But one sure fire say isā¦. Masturbate. Thatās right I said masturbate right there in your bed. Girls would have no problem unless they are squirters. Guys would have to masturbate with a nice clean sock (think sock condom over the penis and ejaculate into it). Or spread a shirt to ejaculate onto or get some toilet paper or tissues to catch the semen and wipe the penis clean. I guarantee you that youāll fall asleep fast from the orgasmic energy release. 😉👍🙂
I usually just lie awake and stare at the ceiling and think about the most awful things I can think of. I usually fall asleep in about 3 hours, just in time to get up.
Sorry. I have been fighting this situation for some time myself. Sometimes I've had to get up and leave the bedroom. I get a book and read it. Read read a page 2 not more than 15 minutes. It will calm your mind and settle your thoughts. Sometimes it's good to get a book that's very boring. It also helps to make sure you go to bed with a clear conscious. Ask the Creator for some assistance. It does work.
Oh no! Iām sorry you didnāt sleep well!
Hoenestly I either read or I masturbateā¦ neither ever really work well for me. I was stold once that a little exercise is a good way to burn that extra energy and I have to say that it did work the few times I tried it. Another Iām sure you know what s melatonin. But my body is so hot see to high energy that I often counter acted the melatonin and made my nose get worse.
2 doses Zzzquil sleep aid mixed with 3 fingers of rum or whiskey. Burns and tastes awful, but you'll be out cold too soon to care. Iffy on if you'll wake up though.
I try not to think about it too much and try listening to music. I occupy my mind with something else and eventually if I'm tired enough ill fall asleep. I also try not to look at the time as that stresses me out more and I keep thinking I need to go to sleep at a specific time.
The military recommends imagining that you're lying in a velvet hammock in your ideal environment
I donāt try to fight it. If you have enough time to sleep you might find yourself waking up after four or so hours. Before electricity people naturally slept in two cycles with a one or two hour waking time between them. If it happens to me I read for a bit and then go back to sleep.
I read! Usually a physical book so I'm not staring into my bright phone. I love reading, but it will make me tired if I'm laying in bed. Without fail.
I eat a small bowl of my favorite cereal with milk. That temporary sugar high almost always gets me back to sleep within 30 minutes.
I just snuggle up to my girlfriend, put my arm around her, and listen to her slow, steady breathing. I always get back to sleep.
Iām still wondering myself. There is melatonin. But many times if I wake up and canāt go back to sleep. Iām just up.
If it happens to be anxiety or something to do with my mental state, I usually do some mindfulness exercises and try to meditate. Clearning mind helps a lot. If that doesn't work, I go the route of a little of ny tincture of thc/cbd. Something with a 10:1 or 5:1 ratio that's prodominately indica based.
You can meditate and listen to some soothing sounds that would help you sleep. Also i advice to eat foods rich in melatonin
Honestly masturbation works for me, puts me straight back to sleep.
When I wake up in the middle of the night I read something that is boring like the newspaper. Just the moment of my eyes going back and forth makes me tired and I fall asleep
It depends on how awake you are. If WIDE awake just get up and do something. Nothing's going to work. Especially if you are worried. But if tired and sleepy try masturbating, reading, warm milk/hot chocolate. Last resort Nyquil or other.
I normally go to a different room in the house (either my home office/ living room) and read a book. Instead of turning all the lights on, I use a book light. Works well for me.
Not really, I avoid caffeine starting around 3pm and I try not to drink much (meaning any liquid not just alcohol) after dinner, but those things only go so far :(
I noticed when I can't fall back to sleep that I am thinking actual words in my head instead of in images or feelings. So I pick a specific positive memory and just think about that. And I make sure that I don't say any internal words to comment on it. That tends to be really helpful.
I also recently learned that if your head is too hot you can't fall asleep. It has to drop by two degrees Fahrenheit in order to go into sleep mode
