The first selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors used as an antidepressant was Prozac. It was extremely successful because it did not have the side effects that other antidepressants created such as excessive dry mouth or nervousness. Zoloft is like the Pepsi-Cola running against Coca-Cola. Pfizer that Prozac was taking sure that Prozac was taking over the market so it came out with Zoloft which is basically Pepsi-Cola against Coca-Cola.. In actuality both are just marginal antidepressants used because they have less side effects than the others on the market but as medication for depression than not that good
You can't be a doctor.
Side effects are relative to the person, you should know this. On top of that zoloft is not a problem for teens and should be left to medical professionals with the right credentials.
major depression
obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
panic attacks (panic disorder)
post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
premenstrual dysphoric disorder (severe premenstrual syndrome)
social anxiety disorder (social phobia)
Zoloft is approved to treat all of the above disorders in adults and OCD in children ages 6 and older.
I think that's what they gave my Canadian friend's sister in the mental hospital which had the side effect of making her want to kill herself as soon as possible.
Wow that sucks. Some prescriptions act differently with people and not in the best ways
It has side effects, I took it for a little less than a year and I can't say that it cured me or made me feel better. That drug made me feel numb and emotionless, I used to write before I started taking Zoloft and my creativity completely died. It has made my mood 'better' for others because it did stabilize my mood but it made me feel emotionless.
@DrGtheMD No she isn't.
The incidence of side effects in children up to age 24 is overall 9%. Suicidal thoughts are also increased as are all side effects. I know you probably took Zoloft and did fine. That is not a good enough reason. Much of the PDR devotes itself when discussing the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors to the side effects in pediatric patients and that means up to age 24. Sure it is used. But each time it's used the risk of increased side effects and colluding suicidal ideation is there. What and what state are you licensed?
@DrGtheMD Im not licensed. And i am not medical doctor but i know doctors who try to work outside their field of care are fuck ups. What im saying is that you are not a psychiatrist or general practitioner meaning that saying what works and what doesn't isn't your field. Patient care is primary in the medical field, you of all people should know your limits. Good luck "MD"
It still shows promise. Everybody reacts differently to any type of drug. In high school Zoloft was amazing. Getting back on it in college not that great. Prozac was horrible for me after college only last a week on it.
The issue is really what works for that individual. One that works for you may not for me.
I have. I was 16 and it sucked.

I'm currently on Zoloft 50 MG and I love it, works great.
How long did it take to kick in after placebo? When i took it last it took about 4 weeks or so
@OrdinaryGentleman I'd say about the same time, 3-4 weeks.
No why would you want that when weed is Mich cheaper.
Got no dealer lol
