I took it for a few years in my early teens. Unfortunately I was being overdosed on it by my psychiatrist, I was being forced to take 200mg daily, so it caused a lot of problems with my physical health since I was a very small teen and 200mg is the maximum dosage for ADULTS. I found the medication helpful for the first 12 months I was on it, but after that I found it didn’t work. It probably works well for someone who just has anxiety and depression, but I have more than that so that could’ve been why it stopped working for me. Eventually I went cold Turkey and stopped taking it and switched over to more “natural” ways of self medicating my mental illness. I haven’t touched antidepressants or anything like that in almost 7 years now.

Yeah... it just stopped doing anything. That's what happened with me. The first time was cool and then after that... just nothing.

I have taken it and overall it was effective but not as effective as Prozac for my body, metabolism, illness etc. You have to know meds are a Drs best guess. It’s not an absolute science. This is why they make so many different ones that are in the same class. The difference between Prozac and Zoloft might only be one molecule but you’d be amazed what that one molecule will or won’t do. Drs rely on patients feedback so they can make adjustments or changes as necessary

I struggle to get out of bed in the morning
Even after doing cbt and exercise. It's more of the overwhelming sadness and thoughts of 'what's the point'

I get it. I’ve been there. All you can do is try it. If you’re not improving tell your Dr. There’s lots of others you can try

I stole like 3 of them (stole them from my mom) and was seeing some colors. The second time I tried it nothing really happened. I tried again and took like six of them and I never got the same effect I did the first time. I gave up after that. That drug was too boring for me.

@AngryCarl2 I know that now, but when I was 14 and saw how it turned my Mom into a sleep addict that would be in a perpetual state of rage if she had to be awake... I decided to experiment when I came upon an entire bottle of them all for myself. I mean I watched my Mom sell them like drugs, so at the time 14 year old me was like, "damn, shit must get these freaks high!"

Zoloft is also called Sertraline. I took it briefly. I have treatment resistant depression and my depression resisted it very well. After that they put me on Efexor and the rest, as they say, is history.

I take Welbutrin. It seems to help. Try it, if it doesn't work for you try another. I tried Prozac but it left me anorgasmic.

That Prozac turned my Aunt into a walking zombie with no working memory. Like if you tried to tell her a secret or anything she should keep to herself, she'd tell the world. She would repeat things a lot too, like telling the same story over and over like you didn't already hear it before. Killed her working memory. She got normal again when she got off it, but when she was on it... it was just fucking weird.
