I'm not like a bodybuilder, far from it, but to stay in decent shape throughout life and still give me enough energy to pump weights here and there, I owe it all to a life-long hobby: skateboarding vert.

    f.tqn.com/y/skateboard/1/S/t/N/RampOllie4.jpg

To me it's not exercise even though it is rigorous exercise. I absolutely love doing it more than anything else in the world. It's the closest sensation I can get to flying with just a board under my feet.

I think finding a physical activity you absolutely love this way is easier than motivating yourself to just work out for the sake of it. And if it's very intense, you'll tend to have a lot more leeway in diet.

Of course if you want to blast your muscles and go for maximum bulk, you tend to need to do a bit more there and require a lot more discipline. But it's also easier to have that discipline and easier to stay cut if you have a very strenuous physical activity you want to do so much and love so much every single opportunity you get (it'll give you added energy all the time to consider weight-lifting more). It can be whatever you want: swimming, mountain climbing, boxing, break-dancing classes, tennis, whatever -- just something you absolutely love doing that, just incidentally, causes you to do very strenuous exercise for hours a day.

    1. Take a picture of how you currently look (preferably in just underwear so all your flaws are truly exposed) and find a photo of how you want to look and post both on your refrigerator door.

    2. Don't buy any foods that will cause you temptation.

    3. Stop eating meals in restaurants.

    4. Start walking up stairs if it is not more than 2 flights of stairs.

    5. Also on your refrigerator, post a picture of someone who you think you could attract if you had a more fit body.

    6. Tell several people that you are embarking on a fitness plan and ask them to frequently inquire about your progress.

    7. Give your best friend $100, tell them the social cause which you most hate, and tell them to donate the money to that cause, in your name, if you do not meet some specific goal by a particular date.

    8. Set reasonable goals. If you need to lose 50 pounds, make your first goal a 5 pound weight loss.

    9. Start getting rid of your fat clothes.

    10. Go shopping and select a few items that you will return and purchase as soon as you can fit into them.

Incorporate it into your everyday life. Don't be lazy. Take the stairs, park farther away, etc. Build up your stamina. Start by running for 5 mins one day and slowly add another minute or two every other day. Same goes for weights. Do one set then slowly do more. Drink a lot of water and avoid fast/food food. Cook your own meals. Consistency is key.

By doing very little, but never giving it up. If you want to look like the magazines you need to make your job out of it. It is a fulltime job of excercising and giving up on sugars and fats. if you want to be fit, eat healthy, cheat once in a while, do a bit of cardio and lift weights, 1 hour of excercise per day is enough to be fit, healthy and look a lot better than your non-lifting counterpart.

personal experience: 2 hours of excercise per day have given me 30 pounds of muscle mass and shedded 60 pounds of fat in 2 years time. i eat healthy 5 days a week, unhealthy 2 days a week and i do a little cheat every healthy day. so i'm really not giving up a lot. i have been leaner, but it is not worth giving up everything unhealthy and every cheatmeal. only 20 pounds of fat difference

The key is getting started and sticking with it long enough to see results. Then the thirst to keep improving will drive you on and it will become part of your life.

Think about the looks, the strength, the condition you'll get, the people you'll meet, the stronger you'll become as a person in general, think about the sports drinks!

    Start eating healthier (slowly)
Do ten min workouts at least 5x a week, slowly increase the minutes (20, 40)
    Juice fruits and veggies
    Find motivation

I walk to the gym everyday and lift. What gets me going is seeing how pumped I am after lifting. Feels good man.

Having a trainer won't get you muscular if thats not what you're after. They will lead you to what your goals are. Im a girl and I had a trainer. Def didn't get muscular from it, just much firmer than I was before.
