I would have to get oral surgery. I want to nip it in the bud before it could start to cause problems.
Has anyone gotten this done? Are there ways you can do it affordably?
Any info is appreciated

Trending & News I would suggest that the first thing you do is ask around for a good dentist. There is a big difference between them.
Then talk to the dentists and tell them you are paying cash. It's common for them to give a deep discount to cash customers because they hate dealing with insurance and only get a fraction of the cost anyway. Oral surgery won't be cheap. But you might be able to get a lot knocked off the price.
It's kind of like buying a new car. The first price you get is not the price most people actually pay.
Also ask around and see if you really need oral surgery. It seems like a lot of dentist these days don't do much themselves, but some still do and will be a lot cheaper than going to an oral surgeon.
You can also ask if the dentist will classify it as preventive. They'll know a lot more about how to cut costs and what the insurance will accept. They might even contact the insurance company and bargain with them. (I've had that happen before.) If there is a serious health risk, like infection, it might even be classified as medical and not dental.
A had a friend doing this in a east europaen country for cheap. Was a bad idea, has health problems since because the dentist did a bad job
Where do you live? It seems a country with poor social health care. Maybe its cheaper in neighbouring countries?

There are several countries that charge you $0 for a service like this done.
