How to lose weight and tone up, (without intense workouts or impossible diets)?

I come from an Italian family and to say the very least, sticking to a diet is quite hard. The thing is I find that I eat more when I'm sad and bored, like when I had a boyfriend, I didn't eat as much and felt sooo energetic but now, after he dumped me, I just feel useless and can't be bothered, can you all please help motivate me, give me tips.. PS Im not morbidly obese, or at all obese, I'm slightly overweight, which is enough to me, I am currently 5"3 and 75kg, and aiming to be around 60kg!
