How do I tell her to just shut up??

sorry this is kinda long but please read :]

honestly I used to be the clown on my tennis team

and play around non stop because I didn't care about the sport (I only joined so my parents would shut up) but over the summer I have started really getting into game and giving it my all. when I went back to summer practice. some of my teammates noticed but some don't because I still make jokes and stuff (but I'm more serious in game time) before this summer we would playfully make jokes about each others weakness's, but lately it seems like some of the usual girls I hang out are suddenly zeroing in on me and it's starting to piss me off. like before when this happened I was able to laugh it off because I didn't care what they thought.

but lately there is this one girl who is always trying to insult me or give me advice I don't need.(and everyday I have contain myself from drawing back my arm and just punching the bitch in her mouth) I usually just laugh at her and move on but it seems with each day that goes by she gets worse and usually I can cuss someone out and they get the hit. but obviously she does not get it.

so for the more levelheaded people out there how would you deal with this?

hey everyone thanks for the advice. today at practice when she made a comment I calmly pulled her aside and nicely but sternly told her that she is being rude and to please stop among other things and after that I had no problems with her :]

When she insults you, just brush it off. You don't want to stoop down to her level. Try to avoid her as much as possible. I know it would be hard bcoz you guys practice together. But try to avoid her. Make it obvious if you have to. She should get the hint. But if she continues, then just tell her to shut up, and then walk away. Don't laugh at it, or anything because she might think you are still cool about it.

When she tries to coach you, don't show her that you are acknowledging what she's saying. If you could, just ignore her, and make her see that you are. Like if she starts coaching you, interupt her mid-sentence, by like saying a joke to someone or laughing at someone who did something funny. If she still continues yappin, just say, listen, I don't have time for your non sense. And then walk away.

Thats all you can do really.

By the way, if you keep laughing at her insults, she will continue doing it. And if you keep acting like you give two shits about her advice, then she will continue yappin. So put your foot down, and show her. Don't fight.

First of you have to realize that its hard to change people's fist impressions of you. You gave the impression to the these girls that you were a goof that didn't take the game seriously , so they probably still believe it. Tell these girls that you are now taking the game seriously and that their comments are uneccesary. Fighting doesn't solve anything and just makes youlook crazy and emotionally unstable. plus it will also leave you with charges pressed against you, and consequently not only would she have gotten on your nerves but she will also have a good chunk of your money ( because a lawsuit). Also at your age, fighting will one lead to your ass being in jail.

if they continue, just give them the silent treatment, they will leave you alone after a while.

Take the high road, you'll enjoy the view better anyways. Popping her in the face won't really help even if it makes you feel better for a moment. I'd turn to her sweetly and say nicely "I've already got a coach and don't you have enough of your own issues to work on?" and then go back to the serve and volley practice. You don't have to ignore her but I wouldn't acknowledge her input and I sure wouldn't let her know that she was getting to you. Good luck.

hmmm. I would tell her that you have actually been working really hard to become a more serious member of the team, and although its really nice of her to give you advice you don't need it, because you have a coach for that. don't be rude, because that will set her off and probably make her wanna piss you off more. I know sometimes that's what it does for me haha. but really if she doesn't stop after that, talk to your coach. there is a girl on my high school soccer team, and she is the biggest complainer ever, and she is always bickering, so a lot of us have talked to our coach about it, because we don't want the negative attitude on the team, so that is also a suggestion. but just keep a cool head. good luck.

I don't agree with ignoring her comments. People like her will keep going on until they get put their place.

I definitely don't recommend hitting her. It will show that you are out of control and make her look like the better person. Instead, next time she says something smart to you just say "Sweetheart, I already have a coach, concentrate on your [insert weakness]" then walk away from her. She will be left looking stupid and will realize that you're not playing with her.

Well I don't know bout them nice people, but you should blow up on her. Yell at her and say you don't like her or need her advice and she'll leave you alone. She'll be scared of you from then on =)
