How would you feel about a bald guy wearing a wig?

Question

Hi. I'm 19, & basically bald. I'm an otherwise fit & attractive guy, but I don't think I deserve to be so... aesthetically handicapped, at my age, to be petty.

Basically, I was wondering how a girl would feel about a guy who was relatively fit, intelligent & handsome, but who they knew was bald & wore a wig or something, at roughly my age - 19.

I don't mind bluntness. Go for it, please.

Dont do it! I actually laughed when I read the ? title (but felt bad when I read the explanation of the title). one of my friends is a 2yrs older than you and he's been going through the same thing since he graduated HS. he wears a hat ALLL the TIME! and underneath the hat he tries to do a comb over but the comb over looks bad but I can't tell him to keep his hat on when he finally has the courage to take it off. I think shaving it off is the best thing to do anything else will just have people staring at your head thinking of nice ways to tell you that you don't need to be wearing that hairstyle and that you are a good looking guy who should be confident.  the reason I tell you not to wear a wig is because they are obvious, I ALWAYS know when someone is wearing one and they never look good.

So this is me being blunt/honest and hoping your not offended.

I think that if you are good looking and being bald is your only worry then embrace it. I think it would be unattractive for a guy to wear a wig because he was bald at ANY age only because it shows that your not comfortable in your own skin and that's what really attracts me to a guy. I want someone who makes me feel comfy in my own skin but if isn't comfortable in his I can't be in mine...make sense? probably not but my advice, whether you take it want it or even care is to just embrace who you are. Do you really want to be with s girl who is so shallow as to dismiss you for your baldness?... Plus I actually find bald guys really attractive lol

I guess it's hard to fully say, simply because I've never known a guy that young to be bald, but if I was in love with a guy who wore a wig, it'd probably be a little difficult to get used to at first, but if I really cared about the guy, it would definitely not be very important to me. I think confidence is much more important in the long run.

Hey man I'm a guy who has been losing his hair since 21 and at 24 I still have most of my hair. I would highly recommend talking to your doctor about Finasteride. Finasteride will most likely grow some hair back and keep what you have left for as long as you are on the medication. If you are already at a point where Finasteride won't save enough hair for you to be satisfied with, I see nothing wrong with getting a wig. Check out top lace, swiss lace, etc. wigs. All those who are saying they have never seen a good wig are dead wrong. They have seen them, and they just never knew. The only people who have to know is you, and your partner whenever you are comfortable telling her. What women say they want and what they end up doing are two very different things. Go for the military skin head look and keep working out as much or more as you do now and you'll get some women thinking you're hot. I know some guys that started balding in their twenties and they either wear hats a lot or go for the total bald look and embrace it, they still get women without hair so don't worry about buying some goofy wig.

When I see a guy wearing a wig it reminds me of a girl getting breast implants that are too big for her body. It's like "Where did you buy thoes?" Well with the wig it's like "Where did you buy that wig?" It also makes me thing if the hair is fake what else is fake? That's just me personally. I'm not stopping you or trying to talk you out of it.

I'm not a girl, but I know a lot of girls don't mind bald guys.  Especially if you're fit and attractive.  Do you have the head for it?  Unfortunately my head is ugly, so once I go bald, I'm hosed.  Gotta hurry up and get a girl married and trapped soon.

NO on the wig. If your almost bald finish the job and shave the rest off. Many guys are extremely hot with a bald/shaven head. Be yourself and a wig I doubt is who you are.

Don't wear a wig. 1. They look EXTREMELY fake and 2. Bald can be attractive. Embrace your bald-ness! :) lots of luck :)

Wig works for one or two evening but you cannot hide your "secret" forever, so for long term it is better to be shaved and be yourself
