Fat cannot be spot reduced. You need to lose weight in order to remove these. You can choose where to make your gains tho. So let's say you want to be 140lbs you lose weight and regain it while exercising in attempt to gain it (as muscle) in the areas you choose. In the end, where you store fat is where you store fat.
That’s what I was kind of thinking I might need to do. Lose and then regain with muscle.
Thank you!
If you have been weight training less than a year straight, are very hefty, or haven't weight trained for a long time, you can do a body recomposition. That is, you can lose fat and build muscle at the same time. Essentially, it's just rapid switching between bulking and cutting. 200 surplus on weight lifting days, 300-500 deficit on non-weight training days. Kill two birds with one stone, as it were. Also gives you a nice break from strict eating.
I'd also recommend biweekly/monthly 24-48 hour fasting. Profoundly healthy, and helps maintain lean mass--ironically--as well as stimulating *very* effective fat loss, as your body has no choice but to go into ketosis. Don't overdo it, though. After 48-72 hours, the benefits can become negatives and put you in starvation mode. And you should read up on how to do it properly. Intermittent fasting is a great way, too.
It's true, though: you can't spot reduce fat. Your body takes it from where it wants to.
@ChurchOfIron Thanks for breaking it down! I do cardio and yoga and that’s about it. But now I’m a little overwhelmed... 😳 Sounds intense
Sure thing. This is my thing, so I like talking about it. :P There's a lot of ways to min/max; but, the most important thing is just that you're eating less calories than you're burning. That's all.
It's very simple and very complicated at the same time. As long as you're burning more calories than you're consuming, you *will* lose fat. Everything else is just trying to get extra benefits.
Oh okay, cool. I didn’t want you guys to feel like you’re wasting your time!
I’m committed to it but I can’t let it take over my life. I’m cutting calories and fat and lots of cardio. Thank you for your help!!
You have to burn bodyfat by running a caloric deficit. Women naturally have more fat deposited around their hips and breasts, each person is different and it's determined by your genetics.
Maybe genetics then? Even at my fittest andor skinniest, I had them.
Most people probably have a higher bodyfat percentage than they think. You might just need to diet more.
The other thing is are you wearing clothes that are too tight? The picture you showed the girl looks like she's squeezing into pants several sizes too small. Something more form fitting would look much better.
I was unhealthy thin back then. But yes, I do need to eat better overall.
Yes, her pants are not flattering or too tight. I just needed a picture for the question.
Thank you for the suggestions.
Liposuction
If It's your body type to gather fat at that area, you can't do anything. You'd have to really suffer working out/losing a lot of weight and wait months to see any actual progress
But It's really expensive
honestly just look up some workouts. there are plenty of workouts on the internet. just eat healthy as you workout and results will come slowly... but they'll definitely pop up sooner or later

As far as I'm concerned I love a little extra its fun to cuddle with. But I get your point love handles happen and weight gained is always easier than weight lost :( unfortunately I've got more love than I can handle myself too if you know what I mean :)
I know what you mean about cuddling! Now I just noticed some extra arm fat.. now I’m thinking I’m just all fat 😱
I’m sure you’re perfect, sir!
Darlin you don’t know what anyone is hiding behind the anonymity of a screen name! Maybe we’re both right and maybe we’re both wrong.
I found lat pulldowns, side crunches, and Roman chair crunches reduce the fat in those areas. I use 70 pounds of weight when I'm doing Roman chair crunches (lie on stomach and you use lower back muscle to lift up) and that builds and tones the lower back.
When you were super fit, did you workout both your abs and your obliques?
Yes!! I had abs of steel. When I got pregnant, I had diastasis recti, where your stomach muscles rip apart.
Hmm, they weren’t extremely evident but I didn’t have a lot of fat there either.
When people work out their abs, they forget their obliques. They do two things, 1. Give you more defined abs by outlining them, 2. reduce the amount of body fat of your love handles. Working your laterals is a big help as well, but women typically fear working out muscles that may give them a more masculine appearances.
Keep working at it, but if it makes you feel better, love handles look good on women. Body fat, looks much better on women than it does on men.
Yes, I believe I’ve neglected my obliques. I’m not very afraid of that. I’d like some really nice toning and some muscle appearance.
You’re the second person to say that they look good on a woman (on this question). I didn’t know that perspective.
Yea just don't bulk up. Build a bit of lean muscle, watch your diet, and don't neglect your obliques.
Body fat is feminine and attractive. I don't know if you've ever seen like a big woman refer to herself as a real woman, but I've seen it. I don't know about real woman, but the point is that when you think of a woman, you don't think abs and muscle tone, skin and bones. Thin maybe, but not any of those other things. Which leaves nothing but body fat. Nothing wrong with being fit though. I respect it because few women dedicate themselves to it.
You have to eat less calories than you burn. Go for high protein, high fat, low carbohydrates if you want to cut and keep up with the strength training to make sure it's not your muscle weight that's going. Drink only water. You can't target a specific area of your body, all you can do is cut and see what happens.
Do abdominal and oblique workouts and eat more nutritious food and less crappy/sugary food, and get more sleep. Change your overall lifestyle. Pretty simple.
A list: What NOT to tell yourself when you want to lose weight ↗
Well despite what people say you can specifically target one area for fat reduction, you have to lose it all over your entire body.
The old saying is "80% of your body is made in the kitchen, 20% in the gym". I'd focus on diet first, likely something Paleo/low carb/no sugar is going to be your ticket.
Noo. They are love handles for a reason. Why would you wanna get rid of them? Don't you know about them? Hahaha
Well first off that's a hard area to lose weight in but the key is cardio those pockets of fat need to be burned so you have to do cardio intense cardio the reason why it's so hard for you to lose that is because you probably hitting a wall when you lose a certain amount of weight your body's kind of stabilizes after a while so it doesn't shed any more pounds so that's when you got to ramp up your cardio and make it a little bit more intense so you can get yourself over that hump
Eat less calories than you burn. Over time you'll burn the fat and become thiner. There is no just losing fat at one part of your body.
Building your lats would probably diminish how prominent the love handles look as well. I lost 70 lbs. 2 years ago and it may a considerable dent in mine. Unfortunately when you lose fat it leaves where it wants to first. lol
well the obvious thing is to reduce Bodyfat heavily, if you want a workout that targets those areas specifically I can make you one 😋
Building muscle leads to more fat burning. You don't have to look like a female weightlifter, just more toned up.
You just have to reduce your overall bodyfat. It's connected to the belly fat. These two are most stubborn areas to get rid of. Im having hard time getting rid of it but I reduced mine. Focus on weight lifting more than cardio.
Cut off sugar. You can't train lower back and lose fat only there. If you lose fat it will be whole body and based on ur genetics. So i would suggest you some cardio and cut on sugar and junk food
It's mostly losing fat.
But it could be genetic.
If that's the case your best option would be liposuction.
I feel like liposuction would be a bit drastic.
You need to lose overall body fat. Given that you appear to have a highish body fat percentage, you could probably add muscle while losing fat (recomposition), which would accelerate the process.
Have lots of sex till you burn them off.
That’s a damn good idea. Better than hitting the treadmill.
Right? That’s how I stay in such good shape.
Not only is it a great work out... its fun.
But if he finishes in your mouth you can’t swallow. That’s like 15 calories.
Or do swallow. Then there’s excuse to have sex again. As if excuse is needed.
Maybe that’s why I’m out of shape 😂🤣
Swallowing... high in calories but high in protein. Hmm.
Indeed. Well we all like to get nourishment in different ways.
Good old fashioned, heart pumping cardio.
It doesn’t work for me. I do cardio more than lifting weights or yoga.
But that looks so good on women.
Really? Interesting!
I feel good from the front and then I see backside and the love handles bother me.
Oh, sorry. Interesting because I didn’t realize that a man might like that.
i guess i need to know that too lol , but works out and diet really helps i tried diet once, but you should really be serious for it to show effects
Cardio and HIITE! That will get it gone in hurry. Along with good diet
I fully understand the problem. Even though i am pretty slim, but i still get them.
i think exercising is the only solution.
Work it out I guess.
I do but how do I target that area?
Get your significant other to grab there during smash time.
LOL good call
Make a
Lot of
Love?
Is that all I have to do?
