+1 ySucralfate is an antacid used to treat ulcers. Likely the reason you feel hungry after taking Sucralfate is because it is breaking up those gas bubbles in you stomach. When you are bloated or gassed up you don't feel hungry. There could be a hundred and one reasons for your symptoms. You could have Celiacs disease or lactose intolerance. Not sure if you are being followed by a gastrointestinal doctor or whether you are self medicating with the Sucralfate because that doesn't require a prescription.

the doctor told me to continue to take it, they gave it to me last year and I forgot to take it but since today am taking it 3x a day, they told me in past oh its only to eat better but never explained exactly what it was, I'm underweight and no wonder im not hungry so annoying I hope I can be cured soon

I agree with your doctor. I think it's wise to have an endoscopy done. I had one done a couple of months ago and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. You could have esophageal strictures where your esophagus starts to narrow. It's usually called by acid reflux.

Anonymous(18-24)+1 yYou should consider getting a gastric emptying test done. You might feel that way cause your stomach digests food too slow.

Opinion Owner+1 yGastric emptying test is where you eat some oatmeal with a tiny bit of radioactive material in it. They then do a scan every 30 minutes for about 2 hours to watch how fast your stomach digests food.
I had an endoscopy done before, it's not bad. Probably good to get one done if you have ulcers
Opinion Owner+1 yThey can be quite painful. But you said you were on medicine for them, so you're already getting treated and should be okay
Opinion Owner+1 yI've been under anesthesia many times, being put to sleep for it really isn't that bad. I think you can have it done awake and they'll just numb your throat instead
Opinion Owner+1 yIt feels fine. You're staring at the ceiling, then you suddenly and peacefully fall asleep, then it feels like only a second has passed when you wake up in recovery.
Opinion Owner+1 yYou'll be okay, ulcers can be treated
Opinion Owner+1 yWhere's the pain located? Ulcers usually cause pain in the upper stomach or chest, period pain is lower down.
Opinion Owner+1 yYeah, that sounds like period cramps. Use a heating pad. If you don't have pain in your upper stomach or chest, I wouldn't suspect you have an ulcer, it just sounds like your stomach digests food slowly. But I'm not a doctor so I can't diagnose
Watch out. It could be an infection too. Best is to go visit doc. Are you stressed too?

Then stop being scared. That's why you get ulcers.
- +1 y
Worrying about stuff.
- +1 y
Don't be scared.
- +1 y
You'll be ok. Wait tell your stomach stops hurting to sleep on it.
- +1 y
That's how you get ulcers. Smile😘
- +1 y
Being sad too. Hplori is bad bacteria. Being sad makes it easier for bad bacteria.
- +1 y
Let me check real quick.
- +1 y
Yes. Eat vegetables. Hplori eats meat. If you starve it by eating vegetables your body can kill it. Spinach is good. No butter. Garlic is good. When you eat meat, eat live bacteria yogurt. Australian guy has very good science on it.
- +1 y
Activia yogurt is good. It's live bacteria yogurt. I don't know how serious your hplori is. Spinach shakes are good too.
- +1 y
It is curable.
- +1 y
You gotta eat lots of yogurt while you take antibiotics and after you finish too.
- +1 y
1 a day with medicine. 3 a day after medicine.
- +1 y
The antibiotics you have a 95% chance of getting.
- +1 y
Australian scientist proved if you have ulcers hplori is responsible 95% of the time. He was a smart guy.
- +1 y
Whatever is comfortable. Stress makes your body weak. That's when the bacteria attacked. You gotta rest and not worry. When you worry your body can't heal. Don't worry be happy☺
- +1 y
Don't know. Never had a period.
- +1 y
The hplori causes lots of bloating. The food isn't going through you fast enough. The hplori is hurting your intestines so they can't process your food. After the hplori is cured, you may need to go on a liquid food diet for a week or two with laxatives. Talk to your doctor about how to clean out your intestines. There's food stuck in there because your intestines got hurt by the hplori.
- +1 y
You seem worried again. I hope to see you smile once.☺
- +1 y
I too love milk and warm cookies.
- +1 y
I haven’t eaten cookies long time as 2017 I got bad anxiety attacks daily nonstop and then that messed up my swallowing and had to eat soup all day so barely now I can eat so so, but Ik there’s a mall where they sell warm cookies , I can eat warm stuff slow and chew a lot but not hard stuff
- +1 y
Just sip a little on your soup while you wait.
- +1 y
I just woke up a couple hours ago. I'll be working on my science stuff soon. Might go to the bar for a drink afterwards.
- +1 y
I hope not. Hair falling out is from cancer treatment not cancer. You have vitamin problems from the hplori. When that's cured your hair should grow back.
- +1 y
Yep. The vitamins will make your medicine not work if you take them now.
- +1 y
That will help your hair.
- +1 y
Take the vitamins now then start eating your soup. Take the meal supplement before you take your sulfracrate.
- +1 y
No you can take those together.
- +1 y
Take your sulfracrate just before sleep. What do you do for work?
- +1 y
They're right it's probably hplori. The antibiotics will help.
- +1 y
When you cure the hplori you will gain weight right away. You'll have to do something to help your intestines get stronger. Probably eat on schedule. Make sure you eat the yogurt when you're about to run out of antibiotics and keep doing it for a month.
- +1 y
Pills. Not sure what else.
- +1 y
Make sure to take your medicine before you go to sleep.
- +1 y
Wait a little to eat more.
- +1 y
Then take your medicine and go to sleep for work. You need your rest.
- +1 y
So the sulfur doesn't bond to the vitamins. That will cause a vitamin deficiency. Probably what's wrong with your hair.
- +1 y
You're probably low on vitamin e.
- +1 y
Don't burn yourself. Potassium helps absorb vitamin e among other things. Bananas are good. I can't remember anything else off the top of my head.
- +1 y
She's not as much of a worrier as you. Since she worries less she heals faster.
- +1 y
Ice will help.
- +1 y
Maybe. I've drank so many things I'd never be able to remember them all.
- +1 y
That's because your food isn't going through you.
- +1 y
Sounds like an ulcer.
- +1 y
You probably do. Doctors are usually right.
- +1 y
Probably because you took your vitamins yesterday. I gotta go shovel snow for my aunt. I'll be about an hour.
- +1 y
It'll be better after the blood tests come back. Ulcers hurt and make you loose weight.
- +1 y
At 82lb most of your weight is bone and you can't loose it.
- +1 y
Can't wait for your blood test results. That will really help you get better.
- +1 y
I hope you feel better. Nothing good comes easy. Keep at it and you'll be better. It's a long journey but good health is worth it.
- +1 y
Tap or bottled? Water does help your intestines.
- +1 y
I'll check.
- +1 y
Take it just before you go to sleep. The closer to food you take it the less it will work but you should still take it before you go to sleep. They can't say it's from hplori because it's only probable, not definitely hplori. The blood test will confirm.
- +1 y
You really need those antibiotics. They may need to start an Iv sucrose drip to get you through this.
- +1 y
It's food they put in your blood if your intestines get worse. Hopefully it won't get that bad.
