I used to be accused of it all the time growing up since I could actually eat around 3000+ kcal/day and stay trim while people said my metabolism was godly or something like that as they watched me shoveling food and eating their leftovers.
But one thing they neglected and I actually neglected was that I was training about 4-6 hrs/day as the fastest sprinter on my track and also I skateboarded on vert ramps every day after school.
By the time I reached college and dropped all those physical activities, that whole "fast metabolism" thing went away and I gained about 30lbs in 6 months during my freshman year. After that I started having to watch what I ate as well as doing more physical activity.
I have a very fast metabolism inherited from my dad's side. I've always been decently skinny, no matter how much I eat. I don't drink, but my dad mentioned that he always a hard time getting drunk in college because his body would process the alcohol too fast and he'd just have to go to the bathroom lol. I mean, I do work out a bit, and I'm guessing playing drums burns some calories, but it's nowhere near enough to justify the amount of calories I can consume. The downside is that I have to worry about anesthesia. Like my dad, pain meds don't work too great on me.
I usually teeter on the edge of underweight due to having such high metabolism. Or thyroid cancer or something. Really not sure. Not going to the hospital to find out.
Lately I've been eating a lot more than previous years (drug stuff), and I'm still getting used to not being able to see my ribs so clearly.

The older you get, your metabolism actually slows down, especially in women. That's why I stay active- unless you have good genetics, it's rare to have a high metabolism.
Trust me, if mine was fast, I wouldn't exercise like a madwoman to burn off all the food I like to eat, LOL

I don't know what my natural metabolism is. I’m very ethjetuc I think without that it might be moderate. I can go a long time without eating bc I teamed myself but I’m also always very lean.
Yes, I do. I've been skinny since I was a little girl but I always eat so much and I'm always hungry lol I can eat a whole large pizza in one seating by myself but I'm still 5'7 and 120lbs lol
Probably high, I'm the same as you in terms of feeling hungry. I can have a buffet, stuff my face and get hungry in 2 hours. But I can put weight on at a normal rate.
I am slim and lean.. i guess that confirms my fast metabolism
At your age of 16, that's perfectly fine and normal. You will start to slow down and worry about your weight when you get older.
I don't know if mine is fast but I can eat more than others around me without gaining that much weight.
I must have a high metabolism. I can eat pretty much what I want & don't gain weight.

I don't know anything about my metabolism. Unless I'm on certain meds my appetite is normal or absent. My corpulence is a result of drinking beer.
