I seem to have an extremely fast one. I still get people impressed by how much I can eat without getting chubby. I'm not sure what causes it though. One thing is that I like to move around a lot during the day even when I'm not working out. Like I actually have a hard time sitting still like some ADHD kid. I can only sit for about 5 minutes at a time before I get out of the chair and move about. I used to drive my colleagues crazy pacing about in the office until they got used to it.
I also like to sprint everywhere I can. If I'm heading to a store in my neighborhood, I like to sprint there and back. I don't like walking so much. I also like to jump and see if I can touch things when they're really high. I'm like a little kid. But I think that might burn a lot of extra calories throughout the day.
I am capable of getting chubby though. That has happened to me twice so far: once in university and a second time early into marriage (my wife called it "happy fat"). I leaned down though quite quickly once I quit being excessive with my eating and drinking and started working out again.
Actually, Q was asked which might relate to this. I have a very high resting heart rate. It often reaches over 100 even at rest, and I think the lowest I ever got was 80. That might have some effect on how much calories I burn at rest, even though it's not very healthy.
My mind is also constantly racing with thoughts. That might be why my resting heart rate tends to be so high. I'm not a mellow type of person at all at least inside my own mind. The only time I ever found I think like a normal mellow person is when I smoke weed, and I don't get to do that very often.

No, I can look at food and gain weight. It's even worse as you get older because your metabolism slows down- unless you have good genetics. I used to be able to eat ice cream, pizza, drink caffeinated drinks, and if I worked out or moved around enough? Came right off a day or two later.
Now? HAHA, if I try that crap, it'll take me a week just to lose one pound.
That's why I exercise so much and stay active; so I can eat (almost) anything I want without fear of gaining too much weight.
Yeah, no matter what I eat and what amount I eat, I don't get fat. I love to eat ice creams, chocolates, junk food anything, but still I don't gain weight. I've been eating a lot lately, as my goal is to gain 5 kgs, and I finally gained 2 kgs (far from my goal but I still made it and I was proud of myself), but after that I got covid, and I ended up losing 4 kgs. Now I always feel tired as I'm severely underweight. I'm trying to gain weight again.

Anyway, jokes notwithstanding, mine is slooooooow.
100% the opposite. My metabolism is at absolute zero. I can literally go days, if not weeks, without eating. That's kind of what I was doing for the past two weeks; just living off of water and a couple of saltine crackers a day. "Intermittent fasting," they call it. But I never lose weight from it, of course. I broke the fast by having some pizza this Friday.

Yeah. Doctor told me I needed to lose weight. So I lost 30 lbs in 3 months. When I came back she was happy and asked how I did it. I told her I struggled for a bit then I discovered a trick that really worked well. I eat whatever I want. I just go to the bathroom afterwards and throw it up. You should have seen the horrified look on her face. I swear some people are never satisfied.

I do. Get bloated when I eat a lot, but it is gone within an hour. I am up 3lbs, then I wake up the next day, I am somehow down 5.
The needing to use the bathroom after eating doesn't really relate to fast metabolism lol. It's moreso the breakdown of fiber/gastrocolic reflex.

If you want a faster metabolism, drink plenty of water, exercise cardio regularly, and make sure you get proper vitamins and nutrients. Your thyroid needs specific nutrients and if it doesn't get them it won't work very well--imagine a car without power steering fluid.
I can eat and eat and gain weight slowly and after all of that i lose weight after doing some exercises, i still have my V shape, my chest and arms and 6 packs are in a good condition even i don't train
Yes, without the bathroom issue. Just have to eat a lot spread out through the day to keep my energy up. If doing something like painting a room I have to stop several times to eat.

"Metabolism" is the sum total of all the chemical reactions in your body; having a "fast metabolism" is like having a "fast square root".
With normal food and even moderately spicy food, no, but with super spicy food, it goes right through me. But that's probably normal.
Yes I do. I eat fast, talk fast, walk fast, and (like you) I often have to head to the bathroom shortly after I eat.
