Is there a diet pill that actually works?

Have any of you ever tried a diet pill? Do they even really work? Are there any that have minimal side effects?

The ones that I have heard actually work were Hydroxycut, and GNC has vitamin packs that boost your energy and make sure you are getting your vitamins.

The best supplements are just that, supplements. They are meant to be used in conjunction with a healthy, balanced diet and exercise.

Diet pills that promise all this weight loss on their own are bogus. They either only promote water loss, which will deprive your muscles and dehydrate you as well as come back just as fast as it came off. OR they are filled with caffeine or other stimulants that make you jittery and feel really weird, anxious, manic (happy one minute, sad or mad the next) and all together, do not make you feel your best.

i think theyre all placebo effects because usually in fine print it says "take one pill daily with eating right and plenty of exercise, take pill with a full glass of water"

basically forget the pill and just eat right and exercise while drinking water...the hidden secret to losing weight.

It probably is part placebo, that's if they actually do manage to do anything but I can't see how a pill can make you lose weight healthily. I think the easiest way someone can lose weight would be through drinking lots of chimmarrao or green tea would probably be almost as good

Some do contain CLA and other nutrients that give you more energy to do your workouts, as well as encouraging vitamin balance to help make sure you are healthy and can recover well enough after them. The pills that promise it all in one are sketchy, especially the green tea ones. However, vita packs are great and give you just enough energy,

Anything your doctor wouldn't suggest or prescribe probably isn't a safe bet. The problem with most diet pills is that they either don't do what they say they will, their effects drastically reverse the moment you stop taking them, or they have potentially dangerous side effects. If there were a reliable, effective, and safe diet pill out there, don't you think everyone would know about it?

If you are not within your healthy weight range and can't lose weight by eating right and exercising, you should see a medical professional because you probably have a legitimate health problem. At the end of the day, it's all about burning more calories than you consume, and everything else is just a distraction.

I'm not an unseeingly unhealthy weight. I run and play sports and such so I'm in shape, I just have extra curves that I'm looking to get rid of. :) didn't know if there was a pill that would boost the effects of my eating right and exercising, so thought I'd ask.

The reason I chose that wording was not to assume that you were at an unhealthy weight. You know how some people, especially at a younger age, can eat anything without gaining or losing a pound? Their bodies adjust to their diet to stay at a set weight. If you're already at a healthy weight, I suspect this may be happening to you.

Good luck! If you cut back on your calories just a little, especially if you're active, the weight really should fall off in no time.

i don't think so I tried this green tea one once it didn't do anything except feed me caffeine

i think vitamins help though, like daily multivitamin, b complex and omega really help speed up metabolism and give you energy and make sure the body is making the right proteins...

they don't work for me. I am not overweight. I have tried hydroxycut all it did was give me crazy anxiety and increased heart beat when I was taking it. not good. I got so scared, I 've opted for gentler methods such as green tea, water and eating more fruit and vegies.

I shouldn't have said that. It's not a diet pill. It sounds like I'm advocating using a controlled substance for losing weight and I just meant to state my experience. I should think before posting.
