    You have to do cold turkey from any food for about 3 days which will forcefully reset your body and prime you into keto.

    This way you will no longer feel "hungry" for sugar stuff. If you go keto directly instead of fasting 1st then you make the "hungry" last a lot longer because you still eat some carbs from food.

    You can try to suppress it with low carb snack bars but it will still raise your blood sugar as it sort of increase the rate of protein convert into carbs for your body.

      I mean.. I've been eating less than I should for a week so in a way, I did fast before it. Not really... But I've been at a calorie deficit for quite some time. I don't really crave sugary foods anymore which is shocking as it's ny third day and I don't even want my fruity gum anymore. It's more like I just want to stop feeling like I'm so hungry. I have to play catch up for like the week and a half that I under-ate (not in the sense that I eat wildly more but just enough to leave the hungry/stomach eating itself feeling behind) and I have to get used to being satisfied with eating this type of food. It's really frustrating especially since, growing up I didn't eat a lot of meat and forcing myself to consume it really bothers me (not in the killing animals sense but in that im just not used to this much protein... Let alone this much obvious fats. I'm a transfats in Oreo's kinda girl. The hidden fats that come with hella carbs. Tbh. I wasn't even allowed sweets or snacks at home so it made them all the more satisfying when I moved out and bought them). Gosh, I'm rambling again.

      Anyways, I wanna go full on into it. No short cuts. No cheating. I'm already seeing improvements. I wanna keep at it at least until my birthday cause I definitely want ice cream as my present but then back on it after by bday.

    I carry around sugar free protein bars and jerky. I also stay hydrated and get proper sleep as well as a nap (20-60 min) if possible.

      anytime. I think one of the biggest challenges with a keto diet is sweets and even sugar free things that are sweet bc they keep you craving sweet things.

      Another tip is to take some fiber supplement like psyllium husk powder that I toss into my protein shakes in the morning. It's hard to get fiber when you don't eat a lot of fruit and vegetables since not only are there carbs but a lot of your fiber comes from that.

      I used to add moringa to my smoothies but I can't have smoothies anymore😭. Thanks for the protein shake and fiber idea.

      Im starting to realize what you mean about craving sugar. I have a bit of an oral fixation and like to chew on gum a lot but when I chew them (fruity gum) they just make me more hungry and want even more sugar even though the gum is sugarfree

      @missy52 oh I used to use moringa too! It’s a good fiber and I guess all kinds of other mysterious benefits as well? Hahah though Sometimes I’m not to still on some of the claims people make. On my package of Moringa powder, it said more potassium than a bunch of bananas on the same packaging that listed the USDA RDAs for potassium is being less than 2% or a negligible amount or something.

      For me it’s water enhancer that keeps my sweet tooth alive but I try to water it down a lot

      I get the 100% moringa bags. It's a tiny bag but I swear to you, I've had it for nearly a year and it's never ran out. I just sprinkle a little of it on my oatmeal and I'm good to go. That stuff is potent. Well... Used to. No more oatmeal😢. I also have the actual moringa seeds.

      @missy52 I'm taking a break as I was doing them every morning for months and I didn't want to get sensitive to the protein powder or anything so I like to switch it up. It was more of a powder shake:

      2 scoops "MyProtein" sugar free (Stevia) protein powder
      5g creatine
      5g sprirulina
      5g psyllium husk powder
      2-5g matcha green tea powder (optional if I want the caffeinated version)
      5g moringa powder (when I had it)

      I put it in a Boston shaker (bartender martini cups) and shake either with some of my homemade milk kefir, goat kefir, or water.

      I heard spirulina is really good for you. You're not from the state's are you?

      Caffeine doesn't really work well for me. I have ADHD.

      Yes, I'm in California. Kefir you can get it at the store but I like to make my own. It basically lowers the sugar (lactose) levels of milk and increases the probiotic properties.

      That's really interesting. I already buy lactose free milk. But they add wayyyyy too much sugar to it after the fact

    All I know is that when I tried that for about 8 months a while back I gained weight and lost so much energy, so I cannot say to much positiveness about it.

      I have a super active job and exercise a lot, so I don't think the high fats was good for me because I wasn't getting enough energy through carbs.

      Keto works great for those who do not exercise a lot, because you won't have energy to burn anyways.

      As you're the only one I know did it... How did you do it? It's day 2 and im feeling miserable. My stomach is acting up (granted for the past week, I haven't been eating enough), I feel tired and dehydrated (dehydrated isn't new), I want to sleep but i also have bubble guts and I haven't eaten enough for today. I think I started this thing at the worst possible time but if I dont start now then I'll never do it. This sucks

      I ate lots of high fats like avocados. I had almond flour to bake my stuff. I got stomachaches.

      Its normal to get the "keto flu" as they call it for a couple weeks.
